July 9, 1915 ~ November 19, 2004


Funeral services for J.D. Ray, 89, of Gore, OK, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 22, 2004, at Believers Fellowship Church, 4520 Neosho (Hyde Park), Muskogee, OK, with Reverend John Derr officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at 2:00 P.M. in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, OK. Services are under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.

Mr. Ray was born July 9, 1915, in Alex, Oklahoma, the son of Joe Ray and Ida [Denney] Ray, and died Friday, November 19, 2004, in Tulsa, OK. He served in the U.S. Army during the World War II. In 1943 he married Margaret Riddles in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the president of J. D. Ray Inc. and had been in oil production his enture life. Mr. Ray was regarded as a gentleman with a unique sense of humor. J. D. was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ray Sivley, of Artesia, New Mexico.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Ray, of the home; daughter, Jann Ray Medeiros and husband John, of Fort Gibson, OK; granddaughter Raegan Medieros-Roberts and husband James, of Broken Arrow, and a bonus son, Ronald Gates of Gore, OK; sister-in-law Josephine Jaggers, of Gore; and a number of nieces and nephews.
