Verona Ann "Ronie" [Aveyard] Phillips
June 20, 1924 ~ April 27, 2011


Graveside service for Verona Ann "Ronie" Phillips of Chickasha will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha.

Verona Ann "Ronie" Phillips was born in Dayton, Ohio, June 20, 1924, the daughter of Leon Thomas and Margaret Delores Aveyard. She died April 27, 2011 in Chickasha.

After completing high school, she worked as an airplane mechanic in Honolulu during World War II. While there, she met and married John C. Phillips. They returned to his home state of Oklahoma and settled in Chickasha where they raised their family.

Ronie was a devoted wife and mother and a champion homemaker. She dedicated her life to ensuring her children were involved in the First Baptist Church, where they were members.

Ronie was preceded in death by: her husband: John C. Phillips; her parents, brothers: Charles `Corky' Aveyard, Leon Thomas Aveyard, Jr., Robert Emmett Aveyard, sisters: Eileen Kinnison, Patricia Summers, Rita Scherbauer, Rosemary `Midge' Blake and Sylvia Aveyard.

Survivors include: children: John Phillips, Jr. and fiancé Judy Faught, Patricia Jean `Sissy' Phillips, Thomas Lee Phillips and Rhonda; grandchildren: Tina Phillips Johnson and husband Ted, John Phillips III and wife Angi, Thomas Lee Phillips, Jr. and wife Lindsay, Charles John `Chuck' Phillips and wife Sumer, Penelton Joe Phillips, Joshua Charles Phillips, Patrick Gene Phillips, great-grandchildren: John Charles Phillips IV, Preston Dale Phillips, Thomas Lee Phillips III, Kyla Phillips, Tabitha Verona Phillips, Owen Patrick Johnson, Ella Elisabeth Johnson, Mallory Ann Phillips and Aspen Faith Phillips. Numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Pauline [Lister] Phillips Wood
July 6, 1929 ~ November 14, 2013


Funeral Services for Pauline Lister Wood of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013, at Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Pauline was born July 6, 1929 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Carrie Grubbs Lister and Elmer C. Lister, and she lived here all her life. She died on November 14, 2013. She was eighty-four years old.

Pauline graduated from Chickasha High School in 1947. She married Alfred E. Phillips on November 2, 1946. They had two children, a son Steven A. Phillips and a daughter Paula Kay Phillips.

Pauline worked at the Local Draft Board #26 and was named Executive Secretary. After the draft was done away with, she worked for the Social Security Administration and retired from there.

She was a member of New Life Christian Church in Chickasha.

She was married to R. G. Wood, but had divorced from him.

She was preceded in death by both parents, a son Steven A. Phillips and his father Alfred E. Phillips. She was also preceded in death by Maggie her pet.

Pauline is survived by daughter Paula Kay Phillips Womack and her husband Charles of Dallas, Texas; her sister Nadine Paul of Chickasha, brother Don Lister and wife Cora of Chickasha; two nieces, Patti Abercrombie of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Ginger Billman and husband Clay of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three nephews, Doug Lister of Florida, Zack Lister and wife Cristy of Plainview, Texas and Bob Paul Jr. and Debbie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by some very special friends and neighbors; three step grandchildren Zach and Jeremy and their families of Dallas, Texas and Kristel and her family of Deadwood, South Dakota.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Norma June [Standridge] Phillips
April 29, 1941 ~ May 18, 2012


Norma June Phillips, 71, was born April 29, 1941, in Chickasha, to Joseph Eli and Dorothy Mae [Trammell] Standridge. She passed from this life on Friday, May 18, 2012, at her home in Anadarko.

Norma was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and a former member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK.

She enjoyed going to thrift stores and garage sales as well as working in her flower bed. Norma also raised and bred Pekingese dogs for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed every minute with her family. Norma touched the lives of many people with her kindness and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. She will be remembered in all the wonderful memories she has left in the hearts of her family and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Mike Standridge.

Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Wesley Phillips, three daughters, Donna Smith and husband, Tracy of Broken Arrow, Teresa Irving of Anadarko and Linda Treas and husband, Gary of Pryor; one son, John Hopkins of Oklahoma City, six grandchildren, Brandy Bentz of Pryor, Matt Bentz of Enid, Sean Treas of Tennessee, Dustin Hopkins of Chickasha, Haley Treas and Ben treas both of Pryor: six great grandchildren, and one brother, Donnie Standridge of Chickasha.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2 P.M.m Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Fairlawn Cemetery, north of Chickasha, under the direction the Steverson Funeral Home.

Sammie Joe "Sam" Phillips
April 8, 1943 ~ August 5, 2014


Graveside service for Sammie Joe Phillips, age 71 of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Sammie Joe was born the son of Henry Earl Phillips and Dorothy Dora Emaline Collie Phillips on April 8, 1943, in Gainesville, Texas. He died on August 5, 2014 in Oklahoma City.

Sammie moved to Oklahoma City at the age of fourteen and started roofing with his uncles.

He married Patricia Ann Gibson on November 6, 1961 in Oklahoma City. They lived in Oklahoma City until 1973 then they moved to Chickasha.

He worked as a welder for many years and retired from H & B Machinery.

Sammie liked to bowl, fish and play pool. He was always ready to help others in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Phillips; mother, Dorothy Phillips Hill; wife, Patricia Ann Phillips; two sisters, Karen Sue Yarbough and Patsy Lois Morrison; brother, Stephen Earl Phillips; grandson, Jason Mills.

Survivors include son, Paul Phillips of Chickasha; daughter & husband, Ginny & Joe Mills of Chickasha; daughter & husband, Karla & Jess Schenk of Ninnekah; daughter & husband, Beverly & Monty Daniels of Chickasha; eight grandchildren, Greg & wife Ethel, Damian, Nicole, Samantha, Joseph, Dayanna, Cody, Shayla, Michael & wife Aubrey; seven great grandchildren, Braden, Justin, McKenzi, Harley, Ross, Bentlee, Kyler, Jayden & Monica; three sisters, Shirley Earlene Southall, Betty Marie Russell and Paula Dawn Walker; three brothers, Thomas Raymand Phillips, Larry Michael Phillips, and Bobby Wayne Phillips.

Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann[ Gibson] Phillips

Graveside service for Patricia Ann Phillips, age 67 of Ninnekah, OK, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Fairlawn Cemetery. Grandson, Michael Mills will officiate.

Patricia Ann was born the daughter of Elmer Gibson and Mertha Burks Gibson on June 30, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK. She died on April 27, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Pat grew up in Oklahoma City where she married Sam Phillips on November 6, 1961. In 1973, she and her family moved to Chickasha. Pat loved to sew and made many blankets for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She spent her life as a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her time to caring for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mertha Gibson; sister, Betty Watt, and grandson, Jason Mills.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Phillips of Ninnekah; son, Paul Phillips of Chickasha; daughter & husband, Ginny & Joe Mills of Chickasha; daughter & husband, Karla & Jess Schenk of Ninnekah; daughter & husband, Beverly & Monty Daniels of Chickasha; eight grandchildren, Greg & wife Ethel, Damian, Nicole, Samantha & husband Brandon, Joseph, Dayanna, Cody, Shayla, Michael & wife Aubrey; seven great grandchildren, Braden, Justin, McKenzi, Harley, Ross, Bentlee, Kyler, Jayden, & Monica; brothers, Tommy & Leslie Gibson of Florida.
