Chickasha, Oklahoma March 2017 Margarita [Gomez] Peña January 30, 1922 ~ March 14, 2017 Funeral service for Margarita Gomez Peña, age 95, will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha. Rev. Larry Hatfield will officiate and Rev. Kim Hayes will assist. Margarita was born the daughter of Julian Gomez and Paulita [Mijares] Gomez on January 30, 1922 in San Angelo, TX. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on March 14, 2017. Prior to her passing, she was the last surviving sibling of 12. She grew up in Rowena, Texas on a farm. As a young girl she attended a little farmhouse school which still stands today. She met her husband, Alberto Cordova Peña, Sr in Ballinger, TX and they married on August 30, 1942 in Paint Rock, TX. After marriage Alberto served in WWII for 4 years. After his return Margaret and Alberto worked many jobs together to provide for their family. They were blessed with 15 children. Her greatest achievement was being a very loving mother. She was preceded in death by her parents Julian and Paulita; her husband Alberto; one infant daughter Delia; one son Ray; and grandchildren Joey, Randy, Mario, Derek Justice, Heather, Sara and Kalynn; also 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Survivors include 10 daughters Lydia, Frances and Bill, Margie and Steve, Oralia and Bill, Molly, Delma and Gyro, Rebecca, Alicia and Paul, Norma and Ken and Gloria; 3 sons Albert and Tammy, Edward and Linda and Sammy; 45 grandchildren, over 100 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Service is under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Wednesday, 17 February 2009 ~ Thursday, 18 February 2009 January 30, 1955 ~ February 15, 2009 Funeral service for Raynaldo Peña, age 54 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009, in the Bible Baptist Church at their new location, 226 S. 29th, Chickasha. Rev. Kim Hayes will officiate. Raynaldo was born the youngest son of Alberto Cordova Peña and Margarita Gomez PPeña on January 30, 1955, in Phoenix, Arizona. He died on February 15, 2009, at his home in Chickasha following a longterm illness. Ray moved to Elk City, Oklahoma, at a young age. He lived there most of his life until moving to Chickasha in 1971. After moving to Chickasha, he met Sharon Harris whom he married on November 24, 1973, in Chickasha. They made their home in Chickasha where Ray worked for Arvin Meritor for thirty five years. Ray was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his father, Alberto Cordova Pena, one infant sister, and one infant grandson. Survivors include: Wife: Sharon Peña. Son and Wife: Chris and Tabitha Peña. Daughter: Jennifer PPeña and Dillon. Son and Wife: Kevin and Kari Peña. Grandchildren: Landyn, Keldyn, Kalynn, Melanie, Rylee, Jeremy, and Ocean. Mother: Margarita Peña. Sister: Gloria Henson. Sister: Norma Doughty and Ken. Sister and Husband: Alicia and Paul Musshaven. Sister: Becky Lane and Jerry. Sister and Husband: Delma and Jarro Bremmer. Sister and Husband: Oralia Ryan and Bill. Sister: Molly Bashaw. Sister and Husband: Margie and Steve Lentz. Sister and Husband: Francis and Bill Unruh. Sister: Lydia Cervantez and Bill. Brother and Wife: Albert and Tamasa Peña. Brother: Sammy Peña. Brother: Edward Peña and Linda. Numerous Niece, Nephews, and other family. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |

Kim Hayes officiating. Kalynn Brooke Peña was born the daughter of Jason Sain and Jennifer Peña on August 13, 1995, in Chickasha. She died on September 19, 2009, in an auto accident near Chickasha. Kalynn was born and grew up in Chickasha. She attended school at Pioneer School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader.She then attended Chickasha Middle School her 7th and 8th grade years where she was a cheerleader. She was excited about her first NCA cheer competition coming up in December.Kalynn enjoyed going to church camp. She especially loved spending time with her mother, Gurney, her siblings, and hanging out with her friends. She was preceded in death by a baby brother, grandfather, Ray Peña, great grandfathers, Albert Peña and George Harris, and great grandparents, John and Elva Sain. Survivors include: Mother: Jennifer Peña of the home, Father: Jason Sain of Chickasha, Brother: Keldyn Peña of the home, Sister: Rylee Peña of the home, Brother: Ocean Peña of the home, Grandmother: Sharon Peña of Chickasha, Grandparents: Debbie and Jack Crawford of Chickasha, Grandparents: Buck and Gayla Sain of Chickasha, Special Friends: Jordan Smith and Josh Hardin, Uncles and Aunts: Chris and Tabitha Peña, Kevin and Kari Peña, Sheila and Scott Cissell, Gary Lawrence, Kassie Lawrence, Chris and Ketura Hill, and Stephanie and Brian Thornburg. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. |
