Welch Edward "Doc" Henderson
October 30, 1909 ~ September 9, 2008


There are no public services scheduled for Welch E. "Doc" Henderson, 98, of Chickasha.

Doc was born October 30, 1909, in Madill, Oklahoma, the son of Arthur and Willie [Farrar] Henderson. He died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at his home in Chickasha.

Doc married his wife of 54 years, Wanda [Parks] Henderson in 1954, in Wichita Falls , Texas.

Mr. Henderson worked in the oilfield for over 60 years in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas and Mississippi. He worked for many oil companies and employees throughout his career in the industry.

He was preceded in death by both parents; and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Henderson, of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Welch E. Jr. and Sylvia Henderson, of Frisco, Texas; step-son, James Casey, of Chickasha; grandchildren: Matt and Joy Henderson, of Frisco, Texas, Ted and Lisa Blodgett, of Norman, Michelle Henderson, of Dallas, Texas, Tandi Guschel, of Moore and James and Tiffany Hacker, of Yukon; eleven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

He was loved dearly by all of his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Cremation was Mr. Henderson's choice.

The family will hold a private memorial service and interment on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Wanda Myrlene [Parks] Henderson
July 23, 1923 ~ February 2, 2010


Funeral services for Wanda Myrlene Henderson, 86, of Chickasha will be at 10 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2010, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.

Wanda Myrlene Henderson was born July 23, 1923, in Doyle, Okla., the daughter of Tom and Fay [Robinson] Parks. She died February 2, 2010, at her home in Chickasha.

She grew up in the Alex and Chitwood area where she attended and graduated from Alex High School.

Wanda worked for and managed Burley's Dress Shop in the early 1950's.

She then met her husband, Welch "Doc" Henderson and they were united in marriage in 1954.

They moved to Woodward for 10 years before returning to Chickasha in the mid 1970's. Wanda went to work for Liberty Drug Store and later TG and Y, from which she retired.

Wanda will be greatly missed by her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she truly loved her family.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband, Welch "Doc" Henderson.She leaves behind one son, James Casey, of the home; two granddaughters: Tandi Gushell and fiancé' Larry McQueen and Tiffany Hacher and husband James; great-granddaughter, Kassi Davis; two great-grandsons: Zachary Davis and Tyler Lamb; sister, Wynona Coffer; brother, G.T. Parks and wife, Mary Ruth; special nieces: Renee Johnson and Belinda Rogers; and many friends.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
