Regina L. [Hinricksen] Gray
October 29, 1918 ~ December 27, 2004


Regina L. Gray was born October 29, 1918 in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Everett and Lillie [Cox] Hinricksen. She passed from this life on Monday, December 27, 2004, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years, following a brief illness.

She grew up in the Amber community and attended Amber School, graduating in 1935. She attended Oklahoma College for Women, now University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, at Chickasha. She then became a teacher in rural Grady County for two years.

Regina married Orville W. Gray on October 1, 1940, in Anadarko. Orville served four years in the United States Air Force, and after his discharge they followed contruction, where Orville was a lineman for many years. They moved to Anadarko in 1953, when Orville went to work for Western Farmers Electric Cooperative. Regina later went to work for the United States Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1980.

She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, a lifetime member of NARFE, and a member of the Anadarko Gun Club, where she served as secretary/treasurer for many years. She was an avid trapshooter and won many trophies. She also served as secretary of the Amber Alumni Association for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Alfred and Clifford Hinricksen, one nephew, Leland Hinricksen, and by her husband, Orville, on November 5, 1996, shortly after their 56th assiversary. Survivors include one nephew, LaMoyne Hinricksen and wife Mackie; one niece, Ellen Hinricksen; two great nephews and two great nieces, all of Las Vegas, Nevada; one goddaughter, Sissy Taylor, of Anadarko; and many loving friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 30, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor Ray Weathers officiating. Burial will follow in Chickasha's Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home. Viewing at the funeral home will be from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., Wednesday. Johnny Fremon Gray
June 4, 1930 ~ December 16, 1993


Johnny Fremon Gray, a resident of Macomb Township, Michigan, died on Thursday, December 16. 1993 at Windsor Metropolitan Hospital Ontario, Canada, at the age of 63 years.

Mr. Gray was born June 4, 1930 in Dekalb, Mississippi. the son of Chester and Annette Gray. He was united in marriage with Winifred Elayne Irby on March 6, 1965 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Johnny was employed as a truck driver for three years by Auto Expediting, Inc. [Ryan Transportation] of Livonia. He retired from the United States Army in 1971, having served for twenty years.

Surviving are his wife, Winifred Elayne, sons, Johnny F. Gray. Jr. of Macomb Township and David C. Gray of Ypsilanti, daughters, Katherine, Denise, and Shirley, mother, Annette Mitchell of Pontiac, sisters, Peggy Gray and Marie Gray, both of Pontiac and Dorothy Gray of Detroit.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 1993, 11 a.m., at the Murphy & Hauss Funeral Directors, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb.

The Rev. Bob Thornton will officiate.

Burial will take place in Fair Lawn Cemetery. Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Leonard Joseph "Joe" Gray Jr
August 21, 1931 ~ October 22, 2008


Funeral services for Leonard "Joe" Gray Jr., 77, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, October 25, 2008, in the Ninnekah Baptist Church with Bob Craddock officiating.

Joe Gray was born August 21, 1931, in Chickasha, the son of Leonard Joe Gray Sr. and Virgie Thelma [Frederick] Gray. He died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at his home, south of Chickasha.

Joe grew up and attended school at Coffelt School, southeast of Ninnekah. He later attended Chickasha, and then Ninnekah Schools. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard in the late 1940s. He served for 13 months during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Thetis [Worbes] Gray, on June 20, 1948, in Chickasha. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.

Joe was employed with Mobil Oil, at Chitwood Gas Plant for over 35 years. He had been an operator and later a supervisor. He retired in 1987. He enjoyed attending car shows and swap meets and buying, fixing up, and re-selling old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brandon Williams. Joe is survived by his wife, Thetis, of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Linda Gray and one daughter, Teresa Gray, all of Chickasha; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Thetis Lahoma [Worbes] Gray
June 5, 1931 ~ June 13, 2017


Private family graveside services for Thetis Lahoma Gray, 86, of Chickasha, were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Fairlawn Cemetery.

Thetis Lahoma Gray was born June 5, 1931 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of Russell Rexford Worbes and Myrtle Lee (Richardson) Worbes.

She went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Thetis grew up in the Ninnekah area and graduated from Ninnekah High School.

She married Leonard Joe Gray, Jr. on June 20, 1948 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They had 60 years together before Leonard passed away in 2008.

Thetis was a homemaker all of her life, taking care of her children and her home. She enjoyed passing many hours sewing with her daughter Teresa, and they were a part of the Busy Hands sewing group.

She attended Ninnekah Baptist Church and was active with many church activities such as preparing meals for the college students at USAO’s Baptist Student Union.

She was an amazing cook and loved reading. Thetis was an avid collector of Goofus Glass and had an extensive collection. She dearly loved her family, especially her son, Ron and daughter, Teresa.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, a grandson, Brandon Williams, three sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Linda Gray, of Chickasha; daughter, Teresa Gray, of Chickasha; sister, Hattie DeHart, of Duncan; brother, Jerry Mutz, of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
