January 17, 1930 ~ September 21, 2006

Funeral services for Dick "Cotton" Goble, 76, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 25, 2006, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.

Dick "Cotton" Goble was born January 17, 1930, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Woodward and Bertha [Gish] Goble. He passed away September 21, 2006, at his home in Chickasha.

He came to Chickasha in his early twenties to work in the oilfield which was his career until he retired and then he worked at Livingston Machinery until he retired a second time.

Cotton married the love of his life, Leora Carter on February 6, 1950, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They were blessed with two daughters: Tammi and Debbie. They had 48 wonderful years together before Leora preceded him in death on October 6, 1998.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always made time for his girls and worked hard to see that his family was provided for.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Tammie and Ricky Bailey, of Chickasha, and Debbie and Andy Sprehe, of Kansas City; brother, Bud Goble of Jenks, Oklahoma; sister, Effie Nighswonder of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandsons: Rusty Bailey and his wife Elizabeth and Corey Sprehe; granddaughter, Michelle Sprehe; two great grandchildren; special friend, Eldora Wright; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Jack anf Loretta Young, Faye and Vic Smith, and Colleen Allen.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
