Elmer Wamsley
October 4, 1896 ~ February 25, 1978


Funeral service for Elmer Wamsley, 91, Minco, will be 2 pm Tuesday in the United Methodist Church of Minco with the pastor, Rev. Bob Langston, officiating. The body will lie in state until 1:30 pm Tuesday at Reynolds Funeral Home. The casket will be closed at the service.

Mr. Wamsley was born October 4, 1896 in Randolph County, W. Va. He died Saturday in Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City.

Mr. Wamsley came to the Minco area in 1914. He and Vi Guthery were married on December 22, 1923, at Minco. He was a retired farmer; a veteran of WWI, serving in the U. S. Navy; a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion at Minco and VFW in Chickasha.

Survivors include his wife, Vi, of the home; two sons, Stuart of Tulsa and Grover E. of Seminole; one sister, Hope Peoples of Hobbs, N. M.; and six grandchildren.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Minco.
