FUNERAL SERVICES FOR ARTHUR GUY MONROE HELD

One Thursday, April 4th the funeral services for Arthur Guy Monroe, long time resident of Minco were held at the Quayle Funeral Home at 2:30 o' clock p.m. The service was conducted by Reverend E.M. Walker pastor of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Monroe was born at Mitchelville, Iowa, December 26, 1878. His death came on April 1, 1940, while in the University hospital in Oklahoma City. His age was 61 years, 3 months and 10 days.

On December 9, 1939 Mr. Monroe was married to Hazel Barber in Big Fall, Minnesota.

His early life was spent in Iowa but he came to Oklahoma as a young man and much of his mature life was lived in Minco.

The survivors include a brother, Ed Monroe, of Wakeeney, Kansas and two step-sons, Jack and Clyde Monroe, Winterhaven, California; two half sisters and four half brothers.

Leland Earl Monroe
December 27, 1917 ~ August 6, 2002


Funeral services for Leland Earl Monroe, 84, Minco, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2002, in First Baptist Church, Minco. Rev. Randy Scott and Rev. Sam Scott will officiate.

Leland Earl Monroe was born December 27, 1917, in Wick, Iowa, and died on Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at his home in Minco.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home, of Minco.

Guynel Eugenia [Marrow] Monroe
August 30, 1921 ~ July 27, 2008


Services for Guynel Eugenia Monroe, 86, of Minco, were held on Wednesday, July 30 at the First Baptist Church in Minco with burial following at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Monroe was born August 30, 1921 at Carrollton, Georgia to Ezra and Lonie Eugenia [Howard] Marrow. She died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Binger.

A homemaker, she lived in the Minco community most all of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was also a former member of the Minco Trailriders.

She married Leland Earl Monroe on September 19, 1942 in Lawton.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband on Aug. 6, 2002; three children, Terry, Keith, and Karetha Faye; three brothers and sisters-in-law Homer and Vera Marrow, Glen and Betty Marrow, and Alton Marrow; a brother-in-law - Virgil Armstrong, and two sisters-in-law, Peggy Hill and June Marrow.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Jery Lou and Patrick Phelps of Ft. Cobb Lake; one brother and sister-in-law Gene and Dot Marrow; two sisters and a brother-in-law Patsy and Dub Locke of Minco and Mrs. Virgil [Wanetta] Armstrong of Minco; one brother-in-law Joe Hill of Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren Denise Phelps, Dena Phelps Friesen and husband Tony, Lana Phelps McKinsey and Fiancee Houston Brittain; seven great grandchildren, Mallory, Morgan, and Corey McMullen Taylor and Casey Friesen and Trey and Madison McKinsey.
