Dale W. Gilliland, Jr
June 23, 1913 ~ April 1, 2010


Services for Dale W. Gilliland, Jr., 96, of Minco, were held on Monday, April 5, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Minco. He died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Grace Living Center in Chickasha.

Dale was born June 23, 1913 in Minco to Dale Wilburn Gilliland, Sr. and Birdie Rosella [Sparks] Gilliland.

Borna nd raised in Minco, Dale graduated from Minco High School in 1932.

He farmed east of Minco until the age of 90 and still helped son Francis with farming until a recent illness.

He married Evelyn Mae Barnes on June 18, 1937 at her Uncle J. J. McDaniel's home in Minco.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Minco and served as a Deacon for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Stanley Gilliland of January 6, 2010, brothers, Clarence, Lonnie and Elby Lee Gilliland, infant sisters, Hazel and Nadine Gilliland and sister Ruth Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years Evelyn Mae Gilliland of the home in Minco, sons, Robert Lee [Bob] Gilliland and wife Delores of Medford and Dale Francis Gilliland and wife Debbie of Minco, daughter Peggy Ann Linn and husband David of Okanogan, Wash., 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Rev. Robert Denny officiated, with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, under the direction of Hubner~Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
