Billy Boyce Carnes
July 29, 1937 ~ March 12, 2014


Billy Boyce Carnes, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Oklahoma City.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Cox City Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Love officiating. Burial will be in the Carnes Family Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Billy was born Thursday, July 29, 1937 in Alex, to Benjamin Franklin and Tressia Claudean [Wright] Carnes.

Billy lived in the Cox City area all of his life.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring after 25 years of service.

Billy married Shirley Ann Davis in 1957, they later divorced. In November 1964, Billy married Opal Maxine Nelson in Reno, Nevada. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2007. In 2008, he re-married Shirley in Cox City. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2012.

Billy enjoyed working on old cars and was a member of the Studebaker Car Club. He also enjoyed farming, beekeeping, and traveling. Billy loved his family and loved his church. He was a member of the Cox City Baptist Church.

Survivors include, son, Billy Boyce Carnes, Jr. and wife Jola of Bellwood, Nebraska,four daughters, Sindy Lynn Pullin and husband Don of Colorado, Shellia Blanchard and husband Stan of Missouri, Twana Ray Ault and husband Mikaul of Cox City, Ralita Ann Lowe and husband Kenny of Cox City, 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, three brothers, Benny Carnes and wife Mozelle of Rush Springs, James Butler Carnes and wife Gwen of Harrington, Kansas, Everett Newell Jordan and wife Kathy of Rush Springs, four sisters, Betty Joyce Crabb and husband Alton of Cox City, Sharon Sue Hill and husband Tommy of Meridian, Katharyn Jo Eaton and husband Gary of Lequrie, Mary Edith Cantrell and husband Glen of Lone Grove, several nieces and nephews.

Billy was also preceded in death by his parents, son, Robert Ellsworth Carnes, grandson, John Daniel Simmons, granddaughter, Bambi Pullin, brother, Miles Hobart Jordan.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Mikaul Ault, Ben Carnes, Roger Martin, Null Jordan, Larry Crabb, Alton Crabb, Ben Carnes, Jr., Tommy Hill, Glen Cantrell.

Opal Maxene [Nelson] Carnes

Opal Maxene Nelson Carnes, 68, of Cox City, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2007 in Cox City.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 29, at the Carnes Family Cemetery in Cox City, with Brother Bill Love officiating. Services are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Opal was born August 15, 1938 in Grass Valley, California, to Charlie Burns and Elona Mae Marshall Nelson.

She attended school at Del Paso Heights schools in California.

Opal married Billy Boyce Carnes on November 24, 1964 in Reno, Nevada.

She lived in the Rush Springs area for the past 29 years. Opal worked as a dietary cook for Grace Living Center in Norman for the past 20 years.

She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, puzzles, hand-held games and spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandbabies.

Opal was a member of the Studebaker Car Club and the Cox City Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Boyce Carnes, Sr. of the home; a son, Billy B. Carnes, Jr. and wife Jola J. of Osceola, Neb.; three daughters, Sindy Pullin and husband Don, Colo., Ann Lowe and husband Kenny of Cox City, and Twana Farris of Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Chuck Nelson and wife Betty, Calif., and Roger Nelson and wife Sharon, Calif.; a sister, Charlene Worley and husband Bart, Calif.; and an aunt, Alene Barns, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Ellsworth; grandson, Johnny Simmons; parents; and a sister, Delma McCloud.

Pallbearers will be Billy B. Carnes III, Leonard F. Carnes, Kyle T. Carnes, Joshua C. Martin, Chad L. Marsh, and Charlie B. Stephens.

Honorary pallbearer will be Kenny Lowe, Roger Martin, TC Lowe, Ben Carnes and Alton Crabb.

Shirley Ann [Davis] Carnes

Shirley Ann Carnes, 72, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at her home in Cox City.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the Cox City Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Love and Rev. Mike Johnston officiating.

Burial will be in the Carnes Family Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Shirley was born Thursday, August 15, 1940 east of Marlow to Dewey Glenn and Julia [Sherill] Davis.

Shirley lived in the Cox City area all of her life. She worked in healthcare until her retirement in 2005.

Shirley married Bill Carnes in 1957. They later divorced. In 1963, she married Billy Jackson. He preceded her in death in 2002. In 2008, Shirley and Bill remarried.

She was a loving housewife and was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables. Shirley was an active member of the Cox City Baptist Church.

Survivors include, husband, Bill Carnes of the home; daughter, Shelia Blanchard and husband Stan of Sheldon, MO; sons, Eddie Jackson and wife Wanda of Duncan and Ronald Jackson and Kirk Couch of Dallas, TX; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; step-children, Billy Carnes, Jr. and wife Jola, Tina Auld and husband Michael, Ann Lowe and husband Kenny, Cindy Pullin and husband Don; sister, Norma Jean Coffman and husband Virgil of Duncan; brothers, Jerald Davis of Countyline and Donald Davis of Grand Prairie, TX; step-sisters, Wilma Staats of Marlow and Carol Clarey and husband Kenneth of Sulphur.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, David Davis, Kirk Couch, Billy Boyce Carnes, Jr., Dennis Hoosier and Jacob Jiles.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Jones, Terry Davis, Dewey Glenn (Shorty) Davis, John Orahood, Jerry Young, Charles Keith "Chuck" Oxford, Shawn Jackson.

Franklin "Dane" Carnes
March 3, 1987 ~ April 3, 2017


ranklin Dane Carnes, 30, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 in Marlow.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Cox City Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Love officiating. Burial will be in the Carnes Family Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services.

Dane was born Tuesday, March 3, 1987 in Duncan, OK, to Bennie and Wanda [Shahan] Carnes.

He graduated from Marlow High School in 2006.

He worked in the Oil and Gas industry performing well service.

Dane relocated to the Lawton area in 2006. He enjoyed playing the guitar, artistic drawing, played for Backwash, and loved joking around. Dane had a big heart and would give the clothes off his back to help anyone in need.

He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
