Hester Gertrude [McClendon] Whitehead
April 28, 1915 ~ December 17, 2015


Hester Gertrude Whitehead, 100, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 in Marlow.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, with Rev. Woody McClendon officiating.

Hester was born Wednesday, April 28, 1915 in Durant, to George Julius and Mattie May (Martin) McClendon.She married Carl Whitehead December 4, 1931 in Marlow, he preceded her in death August 7, 1986. She has lived in the Bailey and Bray area most of her life. Hester loved to visit with everyone. She enjoyed gardening and canning.

Hester was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Whitehead, son, Glendon Wayne Whitehead, 5 Brothers, Clarence McClendon, Marvin McClendon, Orbie McClendon, Reford McClendon Vonnie McClendon and 2 sisters, Aline Davis and Nadene Combs.
