Rush Springs: Elvada "Babe" Tecumseh, 79, Rush Springs, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009 in Marlow.

Services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at the Rush Springs First Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Ron Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.

Babe was born Monday, July 28, 1930 in Reed, OK, to Burt Tatum and Johnnie Haskell Harville. Babe lived in the Rush Springs area most of her life. She attended Reed, Central View, and Duke schools.

She married Gene Douglas Fitzgerald in October of 1946. He preceded her in death in 1950. Babe later married Ted Barnes in Wichita Falls, TX in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1992.

She loved singing. Babe was always the class parent for her boys. She enjoyed farming, ranching and taking care of her cattle. Babe liked going to rodeos. She loved going to church and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include, 2 Sons, Fred Fitzgerald and wife Becky of Rush Springs, OK, and Ronnie Barnes of Sherman, TX, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 Sisters, Geraldine Johnson and husband Wendell of Marlow, OK, and Yvonne Castleberry and husband Charles of Mineral Wells, TX, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jerry Barnes, grandaughter, Laura Fitzgerald, 3 brothers, Sonny Tatum, Johnny B. Tatum, and Eddie Forest.
