Coleen E. [Lail] Compton
July 2, 1930 ~ June 21, 2010


Coleen E. Compton of Lindsay, Oklahoma entered into her eternal rest on Monday, June 21st, 2010 at Lindsay Manor Nursing Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma.

She was born on July 2nd, 1930 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to William Henry Lail and Jewel Goldie [Hunt] Lail.

Coleen married the late J. D. Compton on August 19th, 1986 in Gold Hill, Oregon. Coleen was a resident of Lindsay for many years and worked in several businesses and industries here including Pete Holt's Café, the Sewing Factory, the Broom Factory as well as working as a migrant field worker in the broomcorn field and the cottonfield.

She liked to watch the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners play, and she loved to fish. Coleen helped all kids of every age and color. She was a great cook and a wonderful mom.

Survivors of Mrs. Compton include her three sons; Jimmy Kennedy and wife Pam, Joey Williams and wife Wanda and Felix Williams Jr. and wife Carolyn, her daughter, Donna Kelly and one brother, W.D. Lail. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; Shane Kennedy, Keven Beene, Hammer Williams, Misty Salie, Cecilia Walthall, Amanda Hines, Andrea Frantz, Robbie Williams, April Snoddy, Tonya Pricer, Andrew Williams, Rachel Jones, Talley Williams, Mary Williams, Cory Jackson and Brandi Jackson and twenty-eight great-grandchildren; Stephon, Raven, Ashton, Rieyn, Karri, Tera, Amber, Johnathon, Felix Williams IV, Billy, Elijah, Lonie, Nathan, Cheyenne, Stacey, Sammy, Raven, Daniel, Kale, Deston, Chasion, Morgan, Haley, Alyssa, Caitlyn, Rayen and Whitley along with one great-great granddaughter, Katlyn.

Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Compton when he passed at home on June 1st, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Jewel Goldie Lail, one son, Rickey Williams, one brother, Archie Lail and three sisters; Gladys Ellis, Flossie Slay and Maxine Lail.

Funeral services for Mrs. Compton are set for ten o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 at Bailey Cemetery in Cox City, Oklahoma with April Snoddy officiating.

Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
