Burnice Flo "BF" Burnes
May 13, 1909 ~ April 7, 2004


Burnice Flo Burnes 94 passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Oklahoma City.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Bailey Cemetery in Grady County with Brother Charles Fisher officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.

Born May 13, 1909, to John F. and Audie [Chambers] Burnes, he was a farmer/rancher.

He had lived in Marlow for 24 years and east of Rush Springs most of his life and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 60 years.

Burnes worked for Johnson Oil and Gas for 25 years and for Phillips as an operator and contractor for 12 years.

He married his first wife Izola "Franklin" Burnes the 12th of Dec 1929, in Alex, Oklahoma, she preceded him in death on January 2, 1970; then on October 3, 1971, he married Mrs. Clara McCorkle in Marlow, she preceded him in death on January 17, 1994.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Glen Burnes.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Maxene and Bob Rogers of Lindsay; two step-sons Tom McCorkle and wife Pat of San Antonio, TX and Ray McCorkle of Sugarland, TX; a step-daughter Ellen Condit of AZ; and two sisters Tommie Jordan of Rush Springs and Betty Joe James of Elk City.

Other survivors include four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

Lennie Izola [Franklin] Burnes
April 22, 1914 ~ January 2, 1970


Lennie Izola "Franklin" Burnes was the only child of Harrison B. Franklin and Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" McIntyre.

Her parents divorced when she was very young, both parents later creating second families and providing Izola with many half siblings.

Izola married Burnice Flo Burnes on the 12th of December 1929 in Alex, Grady, Oklahoma.

They were blessed with two daughters Wanda Maxene "Burnes" Rogers and Tommie Delois Burnes.
