She was born September 12, 1911 and died February 9, 2005. Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. © Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma February 11, 2005 September 12, 1911 ~ February 9, 2005 Funeral service for Bernice Nedra Witham, 93, a longtime resident of Ninnekah, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Bernice Nedra Witham was born September 12, 1911 in Carnegie, Oklahoma, the daughter of Marion M. and Tommie Reynolds and passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She graduated from Mt. View High School in 1931 and married On May 12, 1934 in Chickasha to Robert Lee Witham. They had two children, Frank Lee and Janet Kay Witham. Bernice was a member of the Home Demonstration Club in Cowden, Oklahoma and Fairview Quilting Club [40 years]. She worked for Fairview Election Board for several years and was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church since 1923. She moved from her farm in Ninnekah, which she lived on since 1948, to The Sterling House in Edmond, Oklahoma in February, 2002. She enjoyed her last years at The Sterling House where she was voted Valentine Queen and Resident of the Month by the other residents and enjoyed frequently winning bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion M. and Tommie Reynolds; husband, Robert Lee Witham in 1983; one son, Frank Lee Witham in 1992; and three brothers and three sister. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ron Barnett of Edmond, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Keli Martin, Jerry Witham, J. R. Witham, Angela O'Bryant, Christina Gallegos; give great grandchildren, Robert Lee O'Bryant, Wesley Charles O'Bryant, Nadasha Witham, Frank Lee Witham, Hailey Gallegos. Her smile and witty humor will be loved and missed by all, but especially by her family. Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
