July 18, 1957 ~ September 20, 2009


Funeral services for Ricky Dale Townley, 52, of Rush Springs will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Curtis Townley officiating.

Ricky Dale Townley was born July 18, 1957, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, to Ike and Ruth [Teel] Townley. He died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 20, 2009, in Norman, Oklahoma, after a brief illness.

He grew up and attended schools in Amber, Oklahoma.

He had worked various jobs throughout his life, including welder, police officer and general laborer.

Rick enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors in general. He had a special love of music and would often be heard playing the guitar or banjo.He was a caring man and always wanted to help those less fortunate. Rick was a licensed minister and he had a strong love for the Lord and he shared that love with everyone he met.

He loved his family and friends and he enjoyed spending time with them, especially his children.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Townley. He leaves behind his three children: Caleb Townley, of Chickasha, Keith Townley, of Lone Grove, and Susan Scott, of Arlington, Texas; his father, Ike Townley, of Chickasha; four brothers: Don Null, of Amber, Bobby Townley, of Lone Grove, Steve Townley, of Newcastle and Curtis Townley, of Butler, Missouri; two sisters: Patsy Reeves, of Blanchard and Cathy Townley, of Norman; many nieces, nephews and much extended family.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
