December 10, 1944 ~ October 3, 2012


Funeral service for Edward Leo Tilman, 67, of Amber, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2012 at the New Life Christian Church 1828 S. 13th, Chickasha.

EDWARD LEO TILMAN was born December 10, 1944 in Tulsa, the son of Troy C. and Anna J. [Thele] Tilman. He died October 3, 2012 at the Veteran's Hospital in Oklahoma City

Edward was raised in Owasso. He joined the U.S. Army in 1966. He served in Vietnam. He retired from the military at the rank of Staff Sergeant after 20 years of service in 1986 and moved to Amber.

He and Rita Joann Keef were married November 23, 1968 in Chickasha.

Edward was an avid O.U. football fan and fisherman. He was a man who loved his family and friends and was proud of his grandchildren. He participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Edward was a member of the St. Henry's Catholic Church in Owasso.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife: Rita Tilman of the home in Amber; a son: Steven Tilman and wife Susan of Amber; a daughter: Renee Cooper and husband Timothy of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren: Coleman Cooper, Collin Cooper and Kendall Cooper; three brothers: Robert Tilman and wife Natalia of Chino Valley, Ariz., Frank Tilman and wife Rita of Tulsa, Donald Tilman and wife Nita of Owasso; a sister: Virginia Helm and husband Richard of Owasso; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Chickasha.
