Funeral service for Alvin W. Russell, age 69, of Chickasha is pending with the McRay Funeral Home.

Alvin W. Russell was born on January 14, 1936, in Oklahoma City, OK.

He died on December 26, 2005 in Chickasha.

Funeral service for Alvin W. Russell, age 69 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2005, in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Johnny Tims will officiate.

Alvin W. Russell was born the son of Alvin Fred Russell and Eura Inez Spurlock Russell on January 14, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He died on December 26, 2005, in Chickasha.

Alvin served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. While stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas, he met Mary Nell Barry. They were married on June 3, 1957. He moved to Oklahoma City for a short time and coached kid's sports teams as a member of the Optimist Club. They have lived in the Chickasha-Amber area for thirty-three years. During this time, he owned Able Uniform Rental and Southwestern Uniform Rental. He also owned Russell Brangus Farm and Hallmarks For You Flowers.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Rotary Club. Alvin enjoyed coaching and sponsoring many youth activities, but his greatest passion was his farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald Russell, son-in-law Mike Standridge, and granddaughter, Danielle Standridge.

Survivors include: wife: Mary Russell of the home; son & wife: Fred & Cyndi Russell of Chickasha; daughter & husband: Teresa & Jim Allen of Chickasha; daughter & husband: Angie & Charlie Burruss of Chickasha; daughter & husband: Desta & Chris Barry of Longview, Texas; foster-son & wife: Davey & Anna Green of Wilber, Nebraska; grandchildren: Jon & Jilian Gardner, Ryland & Mindy Russell, Hilary & Hayden Russell, Derek & Sharlet Allen, Elizabeth & Mary Kathleen Allen, Mary Alexandreia Burruss, Olivia & Hannah Barry, and Katy, Destiny & Devin Green; brother: Allen Russell of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law: Mary Elizabeth Russell of Moore.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Home for Children, 3800 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
