Isaac Newton "Ike" Newberry
January 6, 1904 ~ November 27, 1985


Funeral for Isaac "Ike" Newberry, 81, of 1827 Louisiana Ave., will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 29, 1985, in the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Mr. Newberry was born January 6, 1904 at Maud, and died Wednesday, November 27, 1985, in Chickasha following a long illness.

He lived in Grady County most of his life. He was a farmer and a dairyman in the Amber area. He retired in 1962 and moved to Chickasha. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall.

He and Viola Clark were married in Chickasha on June 25, 1931. She preceded him in death on May 11, 1980. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Ida Newberry; one sister, Polly Crumm; three brothers, John Newberry, Wayne Newberry and Clyde Newberry.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth [Darlene] Lacy of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Dan [Tula] Parish of Blanchard, and Mrs. Raymond [Lorene] Jobe of Ninnekah; two sisters, Gladys Reeves of Minco, and Erma Alred of Chickasha; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Viola G. [Clark] Newberry
February 2, 1905 ~ May 11, 1980


Funeral service for Mrs. Viola G. [Clark] Newberry, 75 of 1827 Louisiana, Chickasha, was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 1980 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Rev. Virgil Mangram, pastor of 5th and Colorado Assembly of God officiated, assisted by Rev. John Freeman, pastor of Sharon Baptist Church.

She was born February 2, 1905 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and died Sunday, May 11, 1980 in Grady Memorial Hospital as the result of an automobile accident.

She and Ike Newberry were married June 25, 1931 in Amber.

She was a Christian and member of the Baptist Church living practically all their married life in the Amber area. They moved to Chickasha in 1962 after retirement. She is survived by her husband, Ike of the home, three daughters, Mrs. Darlene Lacy of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Lorene Jobe of Ninnekah and Mrs. Tula Parish of Blanchard; four sisters, Mrs. Stella Thurman of Rattan, Oklahoma, Mrs. Faye Corley of Tuttle, Mrs Lillian Nye of Amber and Mrs. Thelma Kind of Oklahoma City; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Interment was in Amber Cemetery, under directions of Sevier Funeral Home.
