May 18, 1936 ~ March 6, 2010


Funeral Services for Alice Ruth Jones, 73, of Amber, will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha with Brother Randy Perry officiating and Brother Ed Whitley assisting.

Alice Ruth Jones was born May 18, 1936, in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter Marvin Scott and Nannie Lee Hudson Scott.

She died Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Oklahoma City surrounded by her family.

While growing up, Alice attended several Grady County area schools.

On May 19, 1951 she married W.E. "Red" Jones in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

She has lived in the Chickasha area most all her life, moving to Amber in 1969.

Alice especially enjoyed going to garage sales, singing gospel music, fishing at Sister Wanda's and watching her grandchildren playing sports.

She was a member of the Amber Mission Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, three sisters, eleven brothers, one daughter Glenda Jo Newton and two granddaughters Amber and Jamie Jones.

Survivors include her husband Red of the home; sons and daughter-in-laws Edward and Faye Jones, of Amber, Dean and Aleta Jones, of Bridge Creek, and Gary and Beverly Jones, of Del City; daughters and son-in-laws Pat and Dan Jones, of Amber, Stella and Charles Thomas, of Hugo, Kari and Randy Molder, of Chickasha and Pam and Steve Snow, of Muskogee; Sister and brother-in-law Mary and Dean Ames of Cement; twenty grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Internment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
