Ruby LaVon "Sal" Hastings
August 6, 1912 ~ December 21, 1979


Funeral for Miss Ruby LaVon "Sal" Hastings, 66, Amber, will be at 1 pm Saturday, December 22, in Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Guentert, pastor of the First Christian Church. Miss Hastings was born August 6, 1912, at Duncan. She died today, December 21, in Grady Memorial Hospital.

She was assistant county superintendent of schools for 41 years, retiring July 1, 1977. In 1921 she moved to this area from Antlers with her family. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Amber.

She is survived by a brother, J. W. Hastings of Amber; three sisters, Mrs. Prebble McCalla, Mrs. Fern Tims and Mrs. Joy Cook, all of Chickasha; two nieces and five nephews, a great niece and eight great nephews. The casket will be closed. Interment will be in Amber Cemetery.
