Funeral services for Edward K. Donoho, age 86, of Chickasha, are pending with the McRay Funeral Home.

Mr. Donoho was born July 7, 1919. He died January 4, 2006, in Chickasha.

Funeral service for Edward K. Donoho, age 86, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2006, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Hatfield will officiate.

Edward K. Donoho was born the son of Ethan D. Donoho and Lima Lynn Askins Donoho on July 7, 1919, in Greenville, Texas. He died January 4, 2006, in Chickasha.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Edward King Donoho
July 7, 1919 ~ January 4, 2006


Funeral service for Edward K. Donoho, age 86, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2006, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Hatfield will officiate.

Edward K. Donoho was born the son of Ethan D. Donoho and Lima Lynn Donoho on January 7, 1919, in Greenville, Texas. He died on January 4, 2006, in Chickasha.

Edward served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe. After the war, he attended the Bethany Nazarene College. He then served as pastor in Concordia, Kansas; Chas, Kansas; Perry, Oklahoma; Texhoma, Oklahoma; and Bandana, Kentucky. He moved to Chickasha in 1981, and owned the Plaza Music Store on Chickasha Avenue for twenty-two years.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Gideons, American Bible Society, and the Oklahoma Steel Guitar Association. He also played the steel guitar in the Old Tymers Band.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bonnie Childers, uncle, Robert Askins, aunt, Sally Askins, cousin, Edith Askins, and two nephews, Billy and Weldon Childers.

Survivors include: Wife: Gracie Donoho of Chickasha; son & daughter-in-law: John & Teresa Donoho of Yukon; daughter & son-in-law: Vickie & Darrel Melton of Augusta, Kansas; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; brother: Doris Parks of Odessa, Texas; sister: Ganell Hardin of Rio Vista, Texas; sister: Verba Mae Suver of Greenville, Texas; stepson: Jerry Haley of Ft. Morgan, Colorado; stepdaughter: Barbara Lapp of Oklahoma City; stepdaughter: Verna Eaglin of Flippin, Arkansas; nephews: Darrell, Roy & Gaylon Childers; niece: Sheryl Simms.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
