Betty Jean [Bumgarner] Wimberly
December 6, 1931 ~ May 16, 2012


Funeral services for Betty Jean Wimberly were held Friday, May 18, 2012 at Hale's Memorial Chapel in Davis with Chaplain Stanley Joseph of Faith Hospice officiating. Interment followed at the Wynnewood View Cemetery.

Betty was born on December 6, 1931 in Davis to Thomas Scott and Lillian Ann [Wells] Bumgarner. She died Thursday, May 16, 2012 in Davis at the age of 80 years 5 months and 10 days. Betty and Paul Wimberly were married on August 5, 1948 in Lawton.

Betty was a hard worker. She worked several years in housekeeping at the Grace Living Center in Wynnewood; fifteen years in house keeping at the Best Western Motel in Pauls Valley; as well as house keeping and grounds maintenance for the State of Oklahoma at the Rest Area on I-35 north of Davis. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed fishing, playing softball and basketball. She was of the Baptist faith.

Betty is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Paula Kubiak of Davis; three sons, Johnny Wimberly of Davis and Steven & Michael Wimberly of Wynnewood; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Billie Jo Lindsey of Ardmore and one brother, Thomas Scott "TS" Bumgarner of Palm Springs, CA.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Paul & Kenneth Bumgarner; one sister Virginia Tuley; and one grandson, Jason Robert Wimberly.
