Walter L. Vineyard
August 1, 1911 ~ April 3, 1981


Funeral services were held Sunday, April 5, at Bahner-Fox Chapel for Walter L. Vineyard who died April 3 at his home. Bro. Karl Jones officiated and burial was in Wynnewood View cemetery. Bahner-Fox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Vineyard, a retired farmer and rancher, was born August 1, 1911, at Thackerville. He moved to Davis in 1977 from Coal county.

Survivors are five daughters, Betty Nelson of Wynnewood, Imogene Daffern of Tupelo, Mary Daniel of Pauls Valley, Fern Dempsey of Gurdon, Ark., and Shirley Dickenson of Wynnewood,; three sons, Bill, Buck and Dale, all of Davis; one sister, Mrs. Birdie Williams of Fresno, Calif.; two brothers, Milburn of Wynnewood and Robert of Durant; 36 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death October 16, 1978. Pallbearers were Bill Vineyard, Buck Vineyard, Earl Dickenson, Charles Dempsey, S. L. Blaylock and Billy Wayne Baxter.

Susie Melissa [Steele] Vineyard
March 14, 1917 ~ October 16 1978


Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Steel Vineyard of 809 South Fifth Street were Wednesday afternoon, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Bahner-Fox Funeral chapel.

Finis Steelman, pastor of First Baptist church, officiated and interment was in Wynnewood View cemetery with arrangements by Bahner-Fox Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vineyard died October 16 in Colonial Nursing Home, Pauls Valley. She was born March 14, 1917, at Stringtown and moved to Davis one year ago from Coal county.

She married Walter Vineyard on September 17, 1932 at Wynnewood.

Survivors are her husband of the home, her mother, Mrs. Clara Ford of Turlock, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Betty Nelson of Hobbs, N.M., Mrs. Fern Dempsey of Gurdon, Ark., Mrs. Shirley Dickenson of Davis, Mrs. Imogene Daffern of Eunice, N.M., and Mrs. Mary Daniel of Pauls Valley; three sons, Bill, Buck and Dale, all of Davis; one sister, Florine Smith of Turlock, Calif.; two brothers, Bill Reed of Turlock, Calif., and Ray Reed of Bakersfield, Calif.; 34 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Buck and Bill Vineyard, Don Daniel, Charley Dempsey, Marshall Nelson and Earl Dickenson.

Dale Vineyard

Graveside services for Dale Vineyard, 63, Davis were held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20 with Rev. James Densman officiating. Interment was in Wynnewood View Cemetery with Krien Funeral Home, Davis, in charge of arrangements.

Born August 18, 1942 in Coalgate to Walter and Susie [Steel] Vineyard, he died Saturday, May 20.

He grew up in and lived in Murray County all his life. He enjoyed working with his horses and cattle.

Surviving are his wife, Dana, of the home; two sons, Gary Dale Vineyard, Yukon and Terry Wayne Vineyard, Ada; three daughters, Linda Kay Weatherford, Connie Eggenberg and Nita Gordon, all of Sulphur; two stepsons, Michael Huff, Ardmore and Chris Huff, Yuma, Ariz.; two brothers, Buck Vineyard, Davis and Bill Vineyard, Coalgate; five sisters, Betty Nelson, Ardmore, Fern Dempsey and Shirley Pickens, both Davis, Mary NeSmith, Ardmore and Imogene Daffern, Centrahoma; 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Susie Vineyard and one son, Monte Vineyard in 1994.

Buck L. Vineyard
July 13, 1940 ~ August 10, 2010


Buck L. Vineyard, 70, of Davis was born July 13, 1940, in Dougherty to Walter L. and Susie [Steel] Vineyard and died August 10, 2010. Graveside services were Aug. 12 at Wynnewood View Cemetery.

He married Joyce F. Spruiell on June 29, 1962, in Blackwell. Throughout his truck-driving career, he drove for Dolese Bros., Joe Brown, Hanson and other area rock crushers.

Survivors include: his wife; six children, Penny Vineyard and Ben Vineyard, both of Sulphur, Pam Goza of Springer, Paula Reddick of Blair, Paige Meador of Healdton and John Vineyard of Davis; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five sisters and one brother.

Services were under the direction of Hale's Funeral Home.
