September 9, 1938 ~ April 29, 2012


Byrl DeWayne McCurley, of Pauls Valley, was born September 9, 1938 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Claude D. and Ethel Mae (Walker) McCurley.

He passed away April 29, 2012 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years.

Byrl was married to Leaona Rose Morris in Ardmore, Oklahoma on May 30, 1958. He was a Grader Operator for 20 years and retired from Garvin County in 2000. He was a member of Love Baptist Church and has made the Love Community and Pauls Valley area his home all of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude D. and Ethel Mae McCurley; brothers, Lloyd, Calvin, Buford, Herman, Larry, Arthel and Mickey McCurley; and by his sisters, Lottie Stephens and Dorothy Hines.

Surviving family include his wife of almost 54 years, Rose of the home; a brother, Bruce McCurley and his wife, Take, of Friendswood, Texas; and a sister, Hazel Porter and her husband, Charles, of Carrollton, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Lynn Phillips.

Interment will be at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
