April 2012 Don Attaway May 21, 1929 ~ April 15, 2012 Marlow: Don Attaway, 82, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 in Marlow, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Pastor Rob Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Tussy Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Don was born Tuesday, May 21, 1929 in the Doyle Community, to Roy and Audrey (Jones) Attaway. Don lived west of Marlow over 56 years. He attended Burris High School. On September 4, 1948, Don married JoAnn Smart at Pearl Church. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2012. One of Don's greatest enjoyments came from working on his ranch. Don always had a big garden. He loved being outdoors sitting under his big shade tree. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visiting with friends was another thing on Don's list of enjoyments. According to Don you always had time to work. Don was a member of the Denton Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Terry Attaway and wife Chris of Marlow; two daughters, Carolyn McLane, Donna Brown and husband Ray all of Marlow; seven grandchildren, James Davis and wife Noel, Roy Attaway and wife Renee, Brian Attaway and wife Kate, Crystal Kizarr and hsband Bruce, Lesley Davis and husband Shawn, Candace Brinton and husband Chris, and Jarrod Brown; 13 great-grandchildren, one sister, Irma Conner of Pauls Valley, several nieces and nephews. Don was also preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Bill Conner, and niece, Kay Busey. Pallbearers will be Brian Attaway, James Davis, Bruce Kizarr, Jarrod Brown, Mike Davis and Charlie Hill. |
