June 29, 1938 ~ September 11, 2019

Bob McMahan, age 81 of Paoli, passed away Wednesday September 11, 2019, at the Norman Regional Healthplex.

Osborn Bobby McMahan was born June 29, 1938 in Maysville, OK, the 4th of 5 children born to Tom Neil McMahan and Amie Lee (Williams) McMahan. Like so many others during this time, the depression spelled tough times for Bob and his family. As a young man, he left school to work and help his family. He learned to work hard and put other’s needs before his own.

At age 17, Bob joined the United States Army and served his country proudly. Bob worked as a carpenter and built many area homes and businesses for more than 20 years. He then took a job in the oil field. He was a mechanic, a pumper and everything in between, and retired from Marathon Oil Co.

Bob married Lessie [Phillips] King and they made their home in Stratford. He welcomed her three children, Robert, Justine and Gaila and they later added a son, Mario. When not working, Bob enjoyed mowing on his riding mower. He enjoyed it so much that he really didn’t mind mowing others yards, and particularly for those who couldn’t. He enjoyed river fishing, and spent many night, camping and fishing on the Washita River, and he passed this love on to his son and grandson. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a good friend.

He was preceded in death by: His parents, Tom Neil McMahan and Amie Lee McMahan; Sister, Nina Mayes and Brother, R.T. “Tom” McMahan.

Bob is survived by: Son, Mario McMahan and wife Lina of Noble, Step children, Justine Smith of Mesquite, TX, Gaila Scheepers of Flower Mound, TX and Robert King of Dallas, TX; Sisters, Josie McMahan of Okla.
