Archie Leo Bradburn
May 7, 1922 ~ January 12, 2014


Archie Leo Bradburn was born May 7, 1922 in Welty, OK, former resident of Paoli, OK and resident of New Iberia, L. Mr. Bradburn passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Dauterive Hospital, LA.

Mr. Bradburn was a Veteran of WWII serving in the 136th Field Artillery Battalion in the Southern Philippines and was Honorably Discharged on December 22, 1945.

He was employed at Kerr McGee for many years, starting as a roughneck and working his way up to Superintendent of Operations before retiring and was a member of the New Iberia Church of Christ having served as an Elder.

Mr. Bradburn was an avid and accomplished golfer. He made a "Hole in One" twice and at the age of 76 shot a 76. He won several tournaments including, First Flight Winner in the Houma Oil Tournament, 1974; First Place in the Gulf Coast Oil Tournament, 1982 and First Place at the Acadiana Pro-AM Assoc, 1988.

He continued to enjoy golfing into his 90's and also was a Marshall at Squirrel Run Country Club.

He played AAA ball for the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed coaching his grandson, Jason's baseball teams at Evangeline Little League and Iberia Youth Baseball Association. He also enjoyed playing card games with his family and keeping his lawn perfectly groomed.

He is survived by his children, Joe Boyd Bradburn and wife Marcia of the Woodlands, TX; Michael Lee Bradburn and wife Linda and Kay Bradburn Marcel and husband Stephen all of New Iberia; five grandchildren, Joe Boyd "Brad" Bradburn, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Austin, TX; Archie Leo Bradburn, II and wife Mindy of the Woodlands, TX; Bridget Bradburn Hollums and husband Christian of the Woodlands, TX; Jason Guy Marcel and wife Erin of Urbandale, IA and Joel Michael Marcel of New Iberia; seven great grandchildren, Christian Zin, Megan Zin, Luke Bradburn, Helena Bradburn, Ezra Bradburn, Maya Marcel and Finn Marcel and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Joan Morrow Bradburn; parents, Nellie Bly Allen Bradburn and Joe Eleck Bradburn; one brother, Jessie Bradburn and three sisters, Alice Bradburn Early, Mae Bradburn Kissire and Beatrice Bradburn White.

Donations may be made in his name to Arc of Acadiana, P.O. Box 9610, New Iberia, LA 70562 and/or New Iberia Church of Christ, 667 Charles Street, New Iberia, LA 70560.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at Paoli Cemetery officiated by Roy Shave.

Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Joan Morrow Bradburn
April 10, 1927 ~ August 25, 2011


Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Archie Leo Bradburn, age 84, at 2:00 pm on Sunday August 28, 2011 at Church of Christ in New Iberia with Pastor Ken Wright officiating, directed by the Evangeline Funeral Homes in New Iberia, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until service at Church of Christ, New Iberia, Louisiana.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Paoli Cemetery officiated by Roy Shave. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Joan was a faithful Christian and a member of the Church of Christ.

In her earlier years she was very active in sports and sang on the radio in a girls quartet.

Some of Joan's favorite pastimes included crossword puzzles, crocheting, cooking, being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

A native of Lindsay, OK and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bradburn passed away at 12:20am on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Dauterive Hospital. She was born April 10, 1927 and reborn through baptism in Pauls Valley, OK in 1944.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Archie Leo Bradburn; sons, Joe Boyd Bradburn, Sr. and wife Marcia Ann of Houston, TX, Mike Bradburn and wife Linda of New Iberia; daughter, Kay Bradburn Marcel and husband Stephen of New Iberia; cousin, Jack Boren of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Joe (Brad) Boyd Bradburn, Jr., Archie Leo Bradburn, II, Bridget Bradburn, Jason Guy Marcel, Joel Michael Marcel; and great grandchildren, Luke Bradburn, Helena Bradburn, Ezra Bradburn, Christian Zin, Megan Zin and Maya Kate Marcel.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ezekiel and Maurine Morrow.

Pallbearers will be Brad Bradburn, Archie Bradburn, Jason Marcel, Christian Zin, Randy Reed, and Harold Madeley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Marcel, Mike Reed, Don Thomas, Kim Touchet, Walter Skinner, Karl Harvison, and Jerry Trahan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Charles Street Church of Christ, 667 Charles Street, New Iberia, LA 70560 and/or Advocacy Center, 8325 Oak St., New Orleans, LA 70118.
