Mary Frances Thomas, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Pauls Valley, passed away March 15, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years.

Mary Frances was born January 9, 1922 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to John Richard and Tina Bell [Yarberry] Thomas and made Pauls Valley her home from 1922 until 1944.

She graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1940. She received teaching certification from Southeastern State University, and taught business classes one year at Pernell OK High School.

In 1944 she moved to Oklahoma City. There she worked as a Bookkeeper at several companies including 7-UP Bottling, AA Davis & Son, Terminix, and T. G. & Y. She was also a member of the Methodist Church.

Mary Frances loved to travel, get dressed up, dance, talk on the phone to friends and family, laugh and tell funny stories. She had a sweet tooth and loved chocolate, candy, her dog, and OU football. She was proud of her brothers, and loved her family. Mary Frances maintained relationships with a large network of friends and neighbors whom she loved and appreciated.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, John Richard and Tina Bell Thomas; brother and his wife, Aldridge Durwood and Azalee Thomas; brother and his wife Herman Curtis (Richard) and Sophia Thomas; nephew-in-law, Don Rowland; and niece and her husband, Carolyn and Cecil Ford.

Surviving family include: one nephew, Joe Ray Thomas and his wife, Jonita, of Harrah; two nieces, Rita Rowland of Yukon; and Bobbie DaVault and her husband Burr, of Arlington, Texas; and many loving great nieces and nephews and their children.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Mark Thomas. A private interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In memory of Mary Frances we ask that you call your friends and family just to talk, laugh and enjoy their company.
