Vinnie Marie [Mathis] Sanders
September 11, 1931 ~ April 28, 2011


Vinnie Marie Sanders, of Pauls Valley was born September 11, 1931 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Henry Elmer and Loretta Cosby Mathis.

She passed away April 28, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

Vinnie was married to Willie Willis Sanders in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on December 18, 1947. She had lived in this area most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Vinnie loved quilting and cooking. She really enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

Vinnie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Loretta Mathis; and one brother, Kenneth Mathis.

Surviving family include her husband of over 63 years, Willie Sanders of the home; 3 daughters, Sue Ellen McCaskill, Patricia Sherrill, and Lorie Owens, all of Pauls Valley; 2 brothers, Melvin Mathis and James Mathis, both of Oklahoma City; 2 sisters, Leoma Baxter of Oklahoma City and Delta Mae Fowler of Elmore City; 5 grandchildren, Tammie Powell and her husband, Bruce Powell, Edward McCaskill, Randall Sherrill, Weston Blaine and Hannah Owens; 3 great grandchildren, Bradley Jones, Christopher Powell and Ladonna Powell; and 1 great great granddaughter, Lillie Marie Powell.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Dr. Joe Elam. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home
