Roy Ray "Buster" Reed
February 16, 1945 ~ August 18, 2019


Roy Ray "Buster" Reed, of Pauls Valley, passed away August 18, 2019, surrounded by his family, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years.

Buster was born February 16, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert Roy Reed and Jennie M. [Petty] Reed. He grew up in Civit, Oklahoma and worked on a ranch at a very young age. He started working in the oil fields and later Kerr McGee in production offshore until his retirement in 2002.

He was married to Carol Gibson in Ardmore, Oklahoma. From this marriage a son, Robert Ray Reed (Bobby) was born. Bobby was the apple of his eyes.

Buster's dream was having a farm with cattle and racehorses; which he achieved.

Buster loved going to the horse races; watching his horses and enjoyed being with his family, full of nieces and nephews.

He was a very generous person; always looking for the good in a person. Whatever they needed he wanted to give.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby; his parents, Robert and Jennie Reed; sisters, Frances Lott and Peggy Young; brother, Bob Reed; and great nephews, Roy Mayes and Scott Kelley.

Surviving family include his wife, Carol Reed; one sister, Betty Stribling; several nephews and nieces and great nephew and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jim Dehart. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home
