Larry Joe Ray
October 22, 1954 ~ January 17, 2011


Larry Joe Ray, of Byars was born October 22, 1954 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Nathan "Buck" Ray and Emma Miller Ray. He passed away at home Monday, January 17, 2011 following a battle with cancer.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Nathan "Buck" Ray and survived by his mother, Emma Ray, of Pauls Valley; daughters, Emily Ray Porter & her husband, Zachary Porter, of Dallas, Texas; and Christy Ray & K C Allred, of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, Bryce Ray, Aly Allred & Piper Grace Allred, stepchildren, Jason Wells & Amber McCurtain, sisters, Natha Ray, Sue Manning & Gail Arrasmith, numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Larry graduated from Pauls Valley High School and has always had a passion for music. His career consisted of ranching, selling cars and trucks for Ford, and as the porprietor of Hog Heaven BBQ in Byars, Oklahoma. Happy and brave through the end, many fond memories were spent listening to Larry playing the guitar while singing his own songs and those of others. Thank you to all who knew Larry as a family member, co-worker and as a friend.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 4:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home
