Edna Fae [Jones] Johnson
April 16, 1942 ~ December 11, 2017


Longtime Pauls Valley resident Edna Fae Johnson, age 75, now of Purcell went to be with the Lord Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Sunset Estates Nursing Home. Edna was born April 16, 1942 in Rush Springs, OK. She was the baby of seven children born to William Earl Jones and Helen Olphelia [Pierce] Jones.

She was raised in and around the Chickasha area. She attended school in Ninnekah and graduated in 1960.

On March 15, 1962 she married her best friend Farris Dwain Johnson. She gained three bonus children in this unity, LaDonna, Marquita, and Gregory. Edna and Dwain made their home in Leadville, CO and in 1967 they welcomed their daughter, Michelle into the family.

By 1974 they had moved back to Oklahoma and they settled in Pauls Valley.

During this time, Edna began working as a special education teacher in the Pauls Valley school system. Edna loved children and she worked at the school for many years. When she was not working, she enjoyed traveling with her sister and brothers and spending time with family.

After retiring, Edna and Dwain moved to El Reno for a short time. Dwain went to be with the Lord in 2003 at which time Edna moved in with her daughter, Michelle and son in law Rick in Yukon, OK.

In 2006 Michelle and Rick moved to Purcell and brought Edna with them. After moving to Purcell, Edna began attending Landmark Church where she made several new friends and attended often. She was a woman of faith, and she loved her Lord, her church, and her family very much. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Edna will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by: Husband – Dwain Johnson Parents – Earl and Olphelia Jones Siblings – Charlie Jones, Monroe Jones, Allen Jones, Red Jones, and sister Dorothy Franklin.

Edna is survived by: Brother – Eldred Jones and wife Ann of Rush Springs. Children – Michelle Herrin and husband Rick of Purcell, LaDonna Johnson of Chickasha, Marquita Sutton and husband Donny of Loco, and Greg Johnson and wife Tricia of Fox. Grandchildren – Hannah Burgess of Purcell, Broderick Herrin of Norman, Makenze Gillett and husband Chris of Norman, Kelly Bowen of Duncan, Jeremy Bench of Chickasha, Crystal Bench of Norman, Beverly White of Norman, Amy Johnson and husband Eric of Fort Worth, Dana Lohrer and husband Byron of Duncan, Tiffeney Johnson of Valrico, FL, Sam Johnson and wife Kimbra of Countyline, and Frank Johnson of Duncan. Great Grandchildren – Elise Gillett, Dakota White, Patience White, Reagan White, Kaylie Keenan, Kolten Keenan, Keeley Laminack, Kiley Laminack, Jaycee Lohrer, Jackson Lohrer, James Lohrer, Connor Johnson, and Walker Johnson and A host of other family and friends.

Her celebration of life is scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, December 15, 2017 at Landmark Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley.
