Wanda Joyce Gardner
March 11, 1931 ~ December 24, 2010


Wanda Joyce [McKee] Gardner, of Pauls Valley was born March 11, 1931 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Terrell Gardner and Effie Crawford Gardner. Her mother, Effie, later married John McKee when Joyce was a young girl. He raised her as his own.

She lived in Stratford, Whitebead, Katie and Elmore City before settling in Pauls Valley around 1944.

Joyce moved to the Garvin Street Group Home in Pauls Valley when she needed more care and later to Norman nursing centers where she has lived for a number of years. She made friends every where she went.

She passed away December 24, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie McKee; a brother, James McKee and brother-in-law, Claud Force.

Surviving family include her brothers and their wives, Bill and Janell McKee of Pauls Valley; and Tommy and Patty McKee of Norman; sister, Peggy [McKee] Force of Burleson, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Jim Dehart. A private interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
