Homer Ray Daniel
July 13, 1934. ~ July 7, 2015


Homer Ray Daniel, of Pauls Valley and a member of the Chickasaw Nation, passed away July 7, 2015 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Daniel was born July 13, 1934 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Homer Oliver and Viola [Dunigan] Daniel.

He was married to Patricia [Nealey] Brown in Altus, Oklahoma on March 11, 1989.

He was Assistant Chief of the Laboratory at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital from which he retired after 28 years of service.

While in Altus he was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 62.

Later he returned to make Pauls Valley his home where he has lived the past 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Oliver and Viola Daniel; and one sister, Virginia Spencer.

Surviving family include his wife, Patricia of the home; seven children, Sterling Ray Daniel of McAlester; Mark Daniel of Ardmore; Danny Daniel of Katie; Donnie Daniel of Lexington; Robert Brown of Roosevelt; Tessie Brown of Pauls Valley; and Becky Dempsey of Blair; 21 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren; one brother, Don Daniel and his wife, Mary, of Ardmore; one sister, Shirley Tennison and her husband, Walter, of Pauls Valley; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Les Hammack, of Ardmore.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Henry Rush, Jr. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
