Parnell [Blevins] Paul Kizer Collins


Parnell Paul Kizer Collins, of Pauls Valley, passed away March 8, 2014 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 102 years.

Parnell was born June 17, 1911 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to David Madison and Loner Mae (Blankenship) Blevins. At the age of 10 she, with her family moved to Pauls Valley where she attended schools and became a 1930 graduate of the Pauls Valley High School. She married W. W. "Bill" Paul, a decendant of Smith Paul, founder of Pauls Valley. "Bill" Paul was Chief of Police and later became Deputy Sheriff and was killed in the line of duty in 1946. She then married John Fielding Kizer. He was a Welder for Dresser Engineering Company whose home office was based in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1970. Later she married Bethal Collins was a Farmer from Pauls Valley. He preceded her in death in 1990. Parnell was head cook at Jefferson Elementary School for 37 years before her retirement as well as working as a Sales person for the Fashion Shop.

Parnell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley, the Garden Club, Joy Givers and the Garvin County Retired Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a stepdaughter, Kay Kizer Studdard; a brother, David E. and his wife Evelyn Blevins; 3 sisters, Clarice and Frank Duke; Odie Lee Difuntorum.

Survived by her 4 children, Bill David Paul and his wife Glenda of Tecumseh; Stephen Paul and his wife Shirley of Plano, Texas; John F. Kizer, Jr. and his wife Deloris of Denton, Texas; and Tommy Ray Kizer and his wife Sue of Noble; nieces, Connie Loper and her husband A.C. of Pauls Valley; Bobby Ann and her husband, Herman Horton Oklahoma City; and Sarah and Susan Difuntorum, Calif.; nephews, Leroy Dew, Calf.; and Tom Blevins and his wife Angela; and grand nephew, Doug Williams of Pauls Valley; as well as 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 10:30 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Dr. Joe Elam. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
