Kenneth Donald Coffey
June 24, 1925 ~ October 13, 2011


Kenneth Don Coffey was born June 24, 1925 on a farm near the Washita River between Wynnewood and Pauls Valley. He passed from this life in Pauls Valley on October 13, 2011 at the age of 86 years. He worked hard all his life as a carpenter, farmer, truck driver, heavy equipment operator and for many years in the construction business.

Kenneth married Nancy Lou Moody on Christmas Eve, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ples and Estella (Goodman) Coffey; one daughter, Brenda Kay Harred; one brother, Elwin Coffey and one sister Edith Barr.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Nancy of the home; two sons and their wives, Don and Cheryl Coffey of Sulphur and Steve and Debbie Coffey of Pauls Valley; one son-in-law, Phil Harred of Elgin; four grandchildren: Tracie Del Torto and husband, Chris of Plainview, Ok., Kena Holder and husband, Matt of Sulphur, Ilena Varner and husband, Bryson, of Moore and Shawn Coffey of Moore; six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Macy, Huston, Brody, Meg and Austin; two sisters, Nelda Hillerman and husband, Cecil and Dena Hamilton and husband, Dale all of Tecumseh; one brother, Bob and wife, Joan, of Henryetta; a brother-in-law, Bill Barr of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Cleta Coffey of Pauls Valley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth's parents, Ples and Estella Coffey, both had large families and he remained in close contact with his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kenneth is well known and respected for his work ethic and always insisted any project that he participated in be done right. He has developed many lifelong friendships in the Texas and Oklahoma area.

Kenneth was a longtime member of the Pauls Valley Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Claude Ledbetter. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Usual visitation will be Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM; Sunday: 1 pm to 5 PM; and Monday: 9 AM to 1:30 PM.

Nancy Lou [Moody] Coffey
December 24, 1928 ~ September 16, 2014


Nancy Lou Moody Coffey was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on Christmas Eve 1928.

She passed from this life September 16, 2014 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.

Nancy was a stay at home mother until her children were grown, then she started a career at Western Electric in OKC. Western Electric later became AT&T then Lucent Technology.

Nancy married Kenneth Coffey on Christmas Eve 1946. She was preceded in death by her mother Lola Walker Himes, her father Bill Moody, her husband of 65 years, Kenneth, daughter, Brenda Kay Harred, and her sister Gayle Bowles.

Nancy is survived by two sons and their wives; Don and Cheryl Coffey of Sulphur, Steve & Debbie Coffey of Pauls Valley; one son-in-law, Phil Harred of Elgin OK; four grandchildren; Tracie Del Torto and husband Chris of Plainview, OK, Kena Holder and husband Matt of Weatherford OK, Ilena Varner and husband Bryson of Moore OK, Shawn Coffey and fiancée Nina Kaiser of Norman, OK; six great-grandchildren; Hannah, Macy, Huston, Brody, Meg and Austin; one brother Ted Moody and wife Evelyn of Varnville, South Carolina; as well as numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kenneth and Nancy both had very large families and they have all remained close over the years.

Nancy was very active in her church and many charitable activities. For many years she worked with the Special Olympics, Love Links and was a volunteer in an Ombudsman program that worked with nursing home residents and their families across the state.

Nancy was a long time member of the Pauls Valley Church of the Nazarene. She always had a smile and a positive attitude even during difficult times.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:00 am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Pavilion officiated by Rev. Claude Ledbetter. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
