On August 4, 1935, she and Darold James Butler were married in Maysville, Oklahoma. They were married nearly 52 years at the time of his death in 1987. She was an avid exhibitor at the Garvin County Fair each year with her fine cooking and vegetable displays and had many recipes in the Garvin County Extension Cookbook.

She was most dedicated to the Lord in the Pauls Valley Church of Christ. She served as Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and headed up many committees for funerals, showers and youth activities.

After Darold's death, visiting her children and grandchildren became her greatest joy, right along with doing her yard work and producing some beautiful flowers.
