Wallace Leo Boone
October 7, 1928 ~ May 11, 2016

Wallace Leo Boone embraced eternal life on May 11, 2016. Awaiting him with open arms was a host of loved ones including Clistia, his wife of over 62 years; his parents, Lester G. and Pearlean Boone; two brothers, Curby and Lester Boone; and a sister, Margie.

Wallace was born in the heartland of rural Caddo County, near Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Lester Gallent and Maggie Pearlean [Dabney] Boone on October 7, 1928. Growing up in the farmlands around the Washita River and graduated High School from Washita, Oklahoma. He met the love of his life, Clistia, in high school and they were soon married. He and Clistia were baptized together at the Baptist Church in Anadarko. He found a premier job working in the petroleum industry for Phillips Petroleum and soon settled down in Pauls Valley. After 36 years with Phillips Petroleum, Wallace retired at 56. Upon retiring, he became known in our area as a "trader" specializing in boats, fishing gear, gadgets, motors, lawnmowers . . . anything you would ever need. He said every day felt like a Saturday because he had so much fun.

Wallace loved life, but his family ranked above all else. His sons gave him the most enjoyment and pride. His legacy in this circle of life lies within the integrity and strength he passed on to his sons and their family: Larry Boone and his wife, Phyllis, and Steve Boone and his wife, Karla. His grandchildren are Ambre Gooch and her husband, Ron, Chelsea Boone and her husband Patrick Bolen, and Stephanie Boone; his great grandchildren are Talor Gooch, Cassidi Gooch and Savanna Bolen. Life would have been shallow for Wallace without the sweet companionship of his dearest friend during these last 6 years, Shirley Couch. Wallace also leaves a brother, Jackie, and sisters, Mary Frances Franklin, Gaye Clagg, and Pearlean Woods.

Wallace Has been the anchor to our family and will be dearly missed. He will be remembered for his strength of character, loyalty to friends and family, fairness to people from all walks of life, his generous love, his fighting spirit . . . "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" [2 Timothy 4:7].

In lieu of flowers, make donations to your favorite charity.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Clistia Mae Boone joined our Saviour in heaven on February 22, 2010. Clistia [Colburn] Boone was born to James A. & Lois [Hughens] Colburn on May 19, 1931 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley, she served in various ministries of the church to include Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Volunteer, Choir member and cook. She felt a personal calling for visiting the homebound, hospitalized or residents in nursing homes as she brought them God's Word with her beautiful smile and precious spirit. Clistia's hobbies included quilting, antiquing, ceramics, and cooking. She worked for Humpty-Dumpty for over 20 years before retiring and becoming a real estate agent with her son, Larry. She also developed an entrepreneurial antique business at the Swap Shop for several years.

Her greatest joy on earth however was her family. She married her childhood sweetheart, Wallace Boone, and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary in May 2009. The remainder of her family include: her sons Larry Boone and his wife Phyllis, residents of Pauls Valley, and Steve Boone and his wife Karla, residents of Oklahoma City. Those awaiting to welcome her in heaven are both parents as well as three brothers, Jack Roy, Billy and J. A. Colburn and one sister Colleen Nikkel.

Clistia was dearly loved by her family and many friends who considered her a true Angel on earth. We were blessed to have shared her love!
