Dorothy D. [Miller] Singleton
January 25, 1924 ~ July 3, 2005


Funeral services for Dorothy D. Singleton, 81, of Payne were held July 5, 2005 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville with the Rev. Bill Irwin officiating. Interment was at Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville.

Mrs. Singleton died July 3, 2005 at her home in Payne.

She was born January 25, 1924 near Harmon, the daughter of Jessie and Dora Presley Miller. She was reared in Oklahoma City and Anadarko.

On April 19, 1947 she married Wilton "Bill" Singleton in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had lived in the Payne community for 35 years.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Wilson; five brothers, Grady, Penny, Mutt, Franklin and Carnie Miller and one sister, Nadine Wyatt.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bill, of the home; one son, Dean Singleton and his wife, Charlotte, of Maysville; two daughters, Ramona Harris of Maysville and Rebecca Madden and her husband, Mark, of Maysville; two brothers, R.B. Miller of Oklahoma City and Donald Miller of Tulsa; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
