Toni Kay Gentry
September 17, 1960 ~ Apro; 21, 2022


Toni Kay Gentry Reed, 61, of Pampa, passed away on April 21, 2022, at her home in Pampa.

Services were Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Briarwood Church with Hugh Piatt, eulogizing her service, and Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Burial followed Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Katie Cemetery in Katie, Oklahoma under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Toni was born on September 17, 1960, in Fairview, OK to Barbara and Joe Gentry, Jr.

As a young girl her family moved to the Texas Panhandle, living first in Perryton and then later Pampa. She later graduated from Pampa High School in 1978.

After graduating, Toni attended junior college before starting her family. She worked in a few different roles and capacities until returned to college and earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics.

In 2007, she earned her teacher's certificate and started at the Pampa High School. Toni served as a teacher and a department head of PHS up until her passing.

Outside of work, Toni loved exploring genealogy, doing her own home improvements, reading, gardening, loving her cats, but her grandson, Drake, was her whole world.

She will be greatly missed by her babies, her friends, her work family, students, and by her family.

She was preceded in death by father, Joe Gentry, Jr.; a half-brother, Terry Don Gentry; half-sister, Brenda Jo Gentry- Burton; nephew, Joshua Long; grandfathers, Mike Anson and Joe Gentry, Sr.; grandmothers, Virginia Anson and Ada Gentry; and by an aunt, Karen Anson.

Toni's survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Reed of Pampa; a son, Phillip Joe Reed, Jr. and wife Jenn Sweet of San Antonio; mother, Barbara Robertson of Amarillo; a grandson, Drake Reed of Pampa; two sisters, Kim Hutchison and husband Mark, and Michelle Long, all of Amarillo; an aunt, Donna Munyon of Oklahoma; Toni also leaves behind, several aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, friends, and students.
