Lola Beatrice "Bea" [Hilliard] McKee
June 21, 1926 ~ January 17, 2019


Lola Beatrice "Bea" McKee age 92, of Purcell passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the Sunset Estates Nursing Home in Purcell.

Bea was born June 21, 1926, in Ben Wheeler, Texas. She was one of eight children born to Jim Hilliard and Lola Elizabeth [McGee] Hilliard.

Her family later moved to Purcell where she grew up a country girl living in the Woody Chapel and Criner Communities. As a teenager, Bea worked hard in the cotton and broomcorn fields with her brothers and sisters. She attended school at Washington. At the age of 19, she met a young man named Lindsay Ellis McKee from Katie, OK. They fell in love and married on July 8, 1945, in Purcell. Together they lived and worked in the Purcell area where they attended church and raised their children and grandchildren.

Bea worked hard as a homemaker and she worked outside of the home. For over 30 years she worked in the laundry room at Sunset Estates Nursing Home.

In her later years, Bea and Ellis enjoyed going to the Purcell and Elmore City Senior Citizen Centers. There they liked visiting with friends and listening to good ole country music. Bea was a wonderful wife and mother. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them playing dominoes. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Jim and Lola Hilliard, Husband, Ellis McKee on May 29, 2002, Children, Wanda DeShazer, and Virginia Watson, Granddaughter, Athena McKee, Brothers, James, Pete, J.T. and Jerry Hilliard. Sisters, Louise Bartts.

She is survived by: Son, Lindsay Eugene McKee and wife Linda of Pleasanton, TX. Grandchildren she raised like her own children, Kelly Lennon and wife Kele of Lexington, Jimmy Lennon and wife Lori of Purcell, Michelle Berdan and Mackenzie Gier of Purcell. Two sister, Lee McKenzie and Gail Everidge of Denton, TX. 10 grandchildren, 28 great and great-great grandchildren, Many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be 3:00pm Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 at the Katie Cemetery, Katie, Oklahoma.

Delbert McKee
May 4, 1923 ~ August 18, 2019


Delbert McGee, of Noble, passed from this life Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the age of 96 years. He was born near Katie, OK on May 4, 1923 to Johnny Clifford and Girtrue [Smith] McGee.

On July 19, 1949 Delbert married Eleanor Evanell Gentry in Gainsville, Texas. They lived the early years of their marriage in Texas then moving to OK in 1959. Delbert and Evanell celebrated 70 years of marriage in July. They have one daughter, Stephanie.

Delbert grew up in Garvin County and attended school at Katie, OK. He grew up fishing and hunting, a favorite time he shared with many throughout his life.

Delbert worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man before becoming a member of the US Army Air Corps from 1942-1947 during World War II. Delbert later worked on a large ranch in Texas before beginning a career in aviation in Fort Worth, Texas then moving to Noble. He retired from Tinker AFB in 1986. After retirement he moved home to Garvin County for several years. During retirement he spent time with his family, fished, hunted, traveled and did wood working projects. In 2001 Delbert moved back to Noble to be near his daughter and grandchildren. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Noble. Delbert was known to his family and friends as a quiet man, with a very kind and gentle nature

Delbert is survived by his wife Evanell of the home, sister, Pasty Lindsey of Wynnewood, Daughter, Stephanie and husband Owen Mannin of Norman, Grandchildren Sally and husband Luis Diaz of Oklahoma City, Katie and husband Ken Brown of Apex, NC, and Tim and wife Christie Mannin of Oklahoma City, and, great-grandchildren Isaac, Elias, Angelina, Reece, Gage, Davis, Emily, Carys, Addi, and Grayson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Gertie McGee, brothers, Lycia Moore and Erman McGee, and sister, Billie McGee Talmadge.

The family will be present to receive friends from 4pm-8pm, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Noble with interment following at 2 p.m. at the Katie Cemetery in Katie, OK.

Eleanor Evanell [Gentry] McGee
October 6, 1930 ~ January 13, 2023


Eleanor “Evanell” McGee of Noble, OK left this life to live with her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the age of 92 with her daughter at her side.

Evanell was born on October 6, 1930, in Konawa, OK to Jarrett and Elsie Gentry.

She grew up in a large farming family in south central OK. Evanell attended High School at Woodland near Davis, OK. On July 19, 1949, Evanell married Delbert McGee. They began the first 10 years of their marriage in Texas, then returned to OK to live the remainder of their lives. Delbert and Evanell celebrated 70 years of marriage together. They had one daughter, Stephanie.

Evanell’s heart was reflected in her role as a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was a woman of many talents. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, apt at perfecting any craft she tried, and in later life enjoyed oil painting and drawing.

Evanell was a member of the Baptist church in both Noble and Pauls Valley, OK while living in those communities. She loved and spent time with all her close and extended family members throughout her life. Evanell’s greatest life adventure was to travel alone to Germany for a visit with her brother. Evanell and Delbert enjoyed many vacations but loved being in their home most.

Evanell is survived by daughter: Stephanie Mannin and husband Owen of Norman; granddaughter: Sally Anne Diaz and husband Luis of Oklahoma City and their children, Isaac, Elias, and Angelina; granddaughter: Kathryn “Katie” Brown and husband Ken of Apex, NC and their Children Reece, Gage, and Davis; grandson: Tim Mannin and wife Christie of Oklahoma City and their children Emily, Carys, Addi, and Greyson; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifetime best friend, Margaret Leslie.

Evanell was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert McGee, Parents Jarrett and Elsie Gentry; brothers: Dillard, D. L., Vernon, and Berthal and sisters: Ivah, Annie, and Cecila.

Evanell will be laid to rest next to Delbert in Katie Cemetery, Katie, OK.
