Aver Dean [Hollingsworth] Underwood
January 6, 1908 ~ January 16, 2001


Stratford ~ Services for Aver Dean Underwood, 93, Stratford, are at 2pm Friday at First Baptist Church of Stratford, the Rev Marvin Knox officiating. Burial follows at Corley Cemetery.

Mrs Underwood died January 16, 2001, at Ada. She was born January 6, 1908 in McCurtain County to E. L. and Rena [Griggs] Hollingsworth.

She was a homemaker and lived in the Stratford area most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She married Almon Underwood October 21, 1928 at Pauls Valley. He died June 19, 1986.

Survivors include three sons, Almon Underwood, Newcastle, Dean Underwood, Oklahoma City, and Jerald Underwood, Uvalde, Texas; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford, is in charge of arrangements.
