Clayton Eulol "Buzz" Sawyer
December 17, 1928 ~ January 11, 2006


STRATFORD - Services for Clayton Eulol "Buzz" Sawyer, 77, Stratford, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Pickard Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Orville Cottrell officiating. Burial follows at Corley Cemetery.

Mr. Sawyer died Jan. 11, 2006, at Norman. He was born Dec. 17, 1928, at Anadarko, to Vada Belle Dyer and Jesse James Sawyer.

He married LaVerne Tinnin Sawyer March 31, 1951, at Oklahoma City.

He spent most of his life in the Ada, Norman, Watonga and Stratford areas where he was a heavy equipment operator and worked as a landman in the oilfield until his retirement in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his wife LaVerne Jan. 11, 1999; his parents; three brothers, Gwindell Sawyer, Omer Sawyer and Homer Sawyer; and four sisters, Bonnie Philpot, Francis Patterson, Mavis Windell and Marilyn Samson.

Survivors include two sons, J.W. Dansby and wife Sandra, and Tony Sawyer and wife Sylvia, all of Norman; one daughter, Pam Jennings and husband Darrell, Norman; four sisters, Joyce Wageck, Janice Sternfel, Carolyn Perrill and Glenda Teel, all of Texas; grandchildren, Lisa and Jason Kinzer, Andrea and Jason Dixon, Tyler Jennings, all of Norman, Deven and Lee Dansby, Houston, Texas, Micah and Devin Sawyer, Blanchard, and Lauren Dansby, Charlotte, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Thomas Kinzer, both of Norman.
