November 12, 1915 ~ January 22, 1994


Services for J. R. Byford, 78, Stratford, are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Pickard Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Charlie Rush officiating. Burial follows in the Corley Cemetery.

Mr. Byford died Jan. 22, 1994 at Pauls Valley. He was born Feb. 12, 1915, at Stratford to James Robert "Dock" and Normam May Burnett Byford. He was a farmer, rancher and painter and lived all his life in Stratford.

On Dec. 24, 1933, he and Florrinner Chisholm were married in Stratford.

He is survived by his wife, Florrinner Byford, of Stratford; a daughter, Yvonne Pace, Stratford; two brothers, Bobby Byford, Stratford, and Monroe Byford, Pendelton, Oregon; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Ruben Hatter, Joe Phillips, Elmer Phillips, James Wiggins and Freddie Wiggins. Honorary bearers are Elvis Morris, Jack Eldridge, Louie Reed, Elmer Rycroft, Frank Morgan and Archie Price.
