Etta Ruth [Lightsey] Peachlyn Watkins


Etta Ruth Peachlyn Watkins, known to many as "Baby Ruth", was born November 3, 1931 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and went home Saturday, May 7, 2011.

Surviving family include her husband of 22 years, Leo Watkins, of the home; daughters, Angelia Wright and Tina Reed; son, C. J. Peachlyn; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; 2 sisters, Annie Watson and Anna Owens; 2 brothers-in-law, Tommy Wright and Henry Clay Jackson, Jr.; 1 daughter-in-law, Pamela Peachlyn and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by parents, George Berry and Estella Gaines Lightsey; daughter, Gloria Ann Jackson; son, Theodore Peachlyn; grandson, James Henry Carmel Jackson; ten sisters and two brothers.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Etta loved to crochet, read, to go fishing and upholster.

Garvin County has been her home all of her life.

Visitation for friends and relatives will be Thursday evening at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance.

Interment will be at the Bethlehem Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
