Dwight Leon "Petro" Peters


Dwight Leon Peters, "Petro", was born to Cesar Peters and Ruby Lee Peters on September 29, 1946 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and passed from this life on October 14, 2008 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years.

He attended Dunbar School and Pauls Valley High School. In 1970 he started working for Schlumberger Drilling Company in Pauls Valley and later in Houma, Louisiana and Oklahoma City.

He attended the Church of Christ. Dwight loved music, playing dominoes, and being around his friends.

Dwight's vibrant and courageous spirit lives on through his wife: Betty Peters of Pauls Valley; sDwight Leon Peters Jr. and his wife, Kristy of Pauls Valley, and Clifton E. Peters of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter: Holly Young of Pauls Valley; brothers: Charles Joe Bray and his wife, Alavan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Cesar Peters and his wife, Trevelle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tony Peters and his wife, Jewel of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Terry Peters and his wife, Arva of Ft. Worth, Texas, Reginald Peters of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Karl Peters and his wife, Jana of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sisters: Alma Poe of Norman, Oklahoma, Lavonda Peters of Norman, Oklahoma, Regina Stewart and her husband, Dennis of Norman, Oklahoma, and Nicole Humes and her husband, George of Bowie, Maryland; grandchildren: Kyle Ford of Pauls Valley, Jennifer Smith of Oklahoma City, and Harley Austin of Pauls Valley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and best friends, Jody Ford and Mondra Graham.

Dwight was preceded in death by his father, Cesar Peters; brothers, Harold Peters and Ronnie Peters; niece, Michelle Williams; grandmother, Girtha Mae Norwood; great-grandmother, Beatrice Price; and grandparents, Brown and Mary Peters.

Funeral services for Dwight Leon Peters are scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Rev. Michael Ford officiating.

Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.

Betty Sue [Jackson] Peters


Betty Sue Jackson Peters of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Willie Mae Jackson and Lloyd Osborne on August 16, 1950 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and passed from this life on April 6, 2011 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years.

Betty grew up and attended school in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

On September 21, 1968, Betty married Dwight Leon Peters in Pauls Valley.

Mrs. Peters worked for Colonial Nursing Home for 15 years and retired from Southern Oklahoma Resource Center after 25 years of service.

In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzle books, needle point, listening to gospel music and watching soap operas. She enjoyed time spent talking on the phone and visiting with her friends, family and shopping.

Mrs. Peters leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sons: Dwight Leon Peters, Jr. and his wife Kristi of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Clifton E. Peters of Tulsa, Oklahoma Mother: Willie Mae Jackson of Edmond, Oklahoma 8 brothers: Victor, Bill, Harvey, Stevie, Terry Lee, Mitchell, David, and Ricky Jackson 3 sisters: Joyce Bruner, Barbara Sledge and Jackie Franklin 2 grandchildren: Jennifer Smith and Kyle Ford and her 1st great-grandchild expected in September.

Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by: Her husband: Dwight Leon Peters, Sr. on October 14, 2008 Father: Lloyd Osborne.

Dwight Leon "Rock" Peters, Jr


Dwight Leon Peters Jr. was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Betty & Dwight Peters Sr. He departed this life on August 18, 2011.

Dwight accepted Christ at an early age.

He attended school in Pauls Valley where he played football. After graduating high school, Dwight attended East Central University where he continued to play the sport that he loved. Dwight would return to Pauls Valley and begin working.

He worked at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center for 15 years, a short time at Curwood and was employed at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center for the past 11 years as a coach/manager. Dwight was not the kind of supervisor that just told you to get the job done but he was always willing to get out on the floor and help get the job done.

Dwight married Kristi Hoffman on August 8, 1997. He devoted his life and time to his mother and children. He loved spending time with his family, barbequing and watching sports.

When his son Kyle was little Dwight coached the little league team.

He had a special way of being sarcastic while having fun at the same time.

He loved his dogs and his truck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Sue & Dwight Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Kristi Peters of Pauls Valley; his children Jennifer Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Kyle D. Ford of Midwest City and a step-son Sharod [Krystan] Hoffman; grandchild Aedyn L. Hoffman of Chickasha; his brother Clifton Peters of Tulsa, OK; his grandmothers Willie M. Jackson of Edmond, OK and Ruby Peters of Wynnewood, OK; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Peters are scheduled for Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Light of the World Pentecostal Church of God in Pauls Valley, OK with Pastor Charles Ledbetter officiating.

Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.

9:00AM to 7:00PM on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 at Wooster Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Pauls Valley.

Services:
11:00AM at Light of the World Pentecostal Church of God on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011.
