Jean Evelyn Buckner

Jean E. Buckner's celebration of life began January 4, 1952, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma when God entrusted that life to Margie Pearl and Andrew M. Buckner, Sr.

Jean spent her childhood and most of her growing up years in Pauls Valley. Her spiritual growing up years were in Pauls Valley.

Her spiritual background began at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

Jean moved to Phoenix, Arizona and Buckeye, Arizona in early adulthood, residing there over twenty years.

Jean continued her spiritual walk with the Lord, uniting with New Jerusalem Ministry Church in Buckeye, Arizona and Faith of Truth Holy Temple, under Bishop Hersey Jackson and Evangelist Earnestine Jackson.

Ill health was a major factor of Jean's move back to Oklahoma, in 1997.

Upon her return to Pauls Valley in 2001, she fellowshipped as her health permitted with Faith Temple and No Greater Love Cogic. Jean's quiet, sweet loving humble spirit will linger in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

On Saturday, July 30, 2011, God's peace like a river attended her soul. Her pain and sorrows rolled away, and Jesus regarded her helpless state, and His voice whispered peace and rest to her spirit. Now, all is well, she rests in the bosom of her Lord.

Her mother, Margie P. Buckner, preceded her in death July 31, 1968, her father, Andrew M. Buckner, Sr. in September 20, 1980, her son, Donte' Buckner September 12, 2000, three brothers, Bennie L. Price, Andrew M. Buckner, Glen C. Buckner, one sister, Bridgett Bruner.

She leaves to remember precious memories: one son, Anthony Buckner of Norman, Oklahoma; five sisters: Minnie P. Stevenson, Maxine Buckner, Gwendolyn Lewis (Larry) of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Donna K. Whitlow of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, Terri Martin (Steve) of Norman, Oklahoma; three aunts: Willie Mae Jackson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Norman Jean Evans of Detroit, Michigan, Betty Broussard of Chickasha, Oklahoma; one uncle: Jerry L. Miles of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Three very special friends: Helen Graham of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Mary Scott, Bill Jackson of Phoenix, Arizona

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
