Marquis LaShon "Ki-Ki" Brown


Milo, OK ~ Marquis LaShon "Ki-Ki" Brown, 17, of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, went home to glory on April 17, 2010, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010, at Jehovah Baptist Church of Milo, Oklahoma, under the direction of Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home of Ardmore, Okla. Interment to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Okla.

Marquis was preceded in his home-going by his great-grandparents, L.C. and Grace "Granny" Brown.

Marquis was born to Candice Brown-Johnson on November 12, 1992, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

A member of Jehovah Baptist Church, Marquis was baptized at a very early age. As a child, he was active in the JBC Steppers, church choir and the usher board.

Marquis was a Junior at Lone Grove High School. He was an outstanding athlete excelling in football. In 2009, Marquis received the "Rudy Factor" award for his spirit and leadership on the football team.

When Marquis was not attending school, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, to whom he was known as "Ki-Ki" or Sleepy Black, SB. Marquis loved his family. He had a love for all kinds of music and was always fashionably dressed.

Our angel leaves to cherish his memory his mother and stepfather, Candice and Percy Johnson of Oklahoma City; brother, Trenton Chaille "T.C." Brown of Moore; grandparents, John and Evelyn Reed of Lone Grove; uncles and aunts, Michael and Molly Brown of Lone Grove, Reginald Thrash Jr. of Healdton, Tanika Thrash-McGee of Oklahoma City, Misty Thrash of Edmond, Carla and Sam Frye of Mansville, Texas, Linda Kay Reed of Milo, Aaron Reed of Milo, Jeffrey and Jenny Reed of Ardmore, and Donna Reed of Arlington, Texas; and a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Although Marquis' time here was short, his memory will live on forever.
