Dorothy Helen [Barnett] Brantley
November 4, 1931 ~ September 11, 2017


Dorothy Helen Brantley of Lindsay was born on November 4, 1931 in Danville, Arkansas to Bill and Ivor Clara [Keener] Barnett. She passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the age of 85 years

Dorothy lived in Pauls Valley and Maysville before moving to Lindsay in 2002.

She married R. T. “Rush” Brantley in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and they were married for 49 years before his passing.

Dorothy’s family meant everything to her and she loved spending time with them.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, and studying her Bible. Her dogs were very important to her and she loved playing with them. Dorothy enjoyed visiting people, and drinking coffee with her friends.

She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Ann Manning and her husband Kenneth of Ashdown, Arkansas, David Brantley and his wife Shelly of Moore, and Nita Bromlow and her husband Chuck of Purcell. And many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Her fur babies, Tinker Bell, Pepe, and Portia.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, R. T. Brantley; son, Thomas Odell Brantley; parents, Bill and Ivor [Keener] Barnett; grandchildren, Steven Mitchell and Mindi Bromlow-Boston; sisters, Loyce Pratt, Pearl Huffman, June Sullivan, and Mary Ruth Kyzar; and brothers, Lonzo Barnett and Bill Barnett.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Abundant Love Fellowship, Maysville, OK with Bro. Wearthy Shank officiating.

Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com

Shelly Renee [Merrick] Brantley
May 16, 1957 ~ May 20, 2018


Shelly Renee Brantley of Purcell was born on May 16, 1957 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Clinton and Bonnie Fay [Jaco] Merrick and she passed away very unexpectedly from this life on Sunday, May 20, 2018 in their home at Lake Texoma, Kingston, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years.

Shelly grew up in Oklahoma City where she graduated from U. S. Grant High School in 1975.

She worked for 30 years as an office manager for Evans Electric.

She married David Brantley on March 9, 1992 on the pond at Lake Texoma. Earlier this year, they moved from Moore to Purcell. Shelly loved spending time with her family especially her two grandchildren and she liked entertaining them.

She enjoyed sewing, bowling, crafts, interior design, decorating houses, playing golf with the Purcell Ladies Golf Association. She also enjoyed being outdoors and their life at Lake Texoma. Shelly will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her survivors include her husband, David of the home. Parents, Clinton and Bonnie Merrick of Oklahoma City. A daughter, Julie Mitchell of Moore. Grandchildren: Brantley Mitchell of Moore and Justus Brantley of Purcell. Sisters: Vickie Jefferson and husband Victor of Kingston; and Jo Fendrych and husband Jimmie of Mustang. A brother-in-law, Steven Martin of Midwest City.

Shelly was preceded in death by her son, Steven Mitchell and a sister, Marla Martin.
